A little help please

A little help please

Hello all. New here please be kind.I have been taking norco 10/325 for two years now and hate it. Where has my life gone? I have always been a non drinker or done any kind of drugs. I hurt my back and and started taking meds as should be. Now I have to take 6 at a time. I enjoy the numbing effect this garbage has on me. I have managed to hide this from all my family except my husband  who has been a saint with me.I have talked this over w/ my doc and he told me my condition "my back"was only going to get worse because of a bone deteriorating disease an even suggested I be put on a fentanyl spl? patch with norco for break-through pain.No way no how! I have tried tapering and even c/t. I need some suggestions on how to keep my mind and hands from reaching for these stupid pills. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

well i you have pain your going to have to manage those pills otherwise its misery all the time.  I your taking 6 at a time your tolerence is already up ther so you have to get a handle on something what i nothing works or the pain thats why abusing it is setting you up or horror story later.  noone can do it or you so be strong don't set yoursel up or no relei later its about pain relie or you not getting high anymore,  thats the reality o it.

Thank you! Yes I want off the pills all together. If years later and I do mean years IF I have to take them then I will have hubby pass them out as needed. I just want to throw my hands up and scream DO OVERS! I was stupid to let this get so out of had in the first place.

That was nice of you to say you were sorry but I saw it a tough love so I'm thankful for your honesty.

Sometimes people who have chronic pain need to take something to relieve the pain or all you will be able to think about is how much you hurt. If that time comes, you're wise to let another person manage your medication.

I'm tapering off fentanyl patches. It's not easy. I should never have been put on them. It says right on the box "not to be used for post op pain." They are so addictive. 80-100 times stronger than morphine. They can be abused, but many times that's fatal. Stay away from them if you can.

Take Care,.....LS
