I left you a pm. You are my ANGEL and I pray you beat this addiction. Try and taper and NEVER EVER go back to heroin. You sound like an AWESOME person that the pill bugs bit  . Not fair, but we must take responsibilty. If you ever need to talk, I am here. Beating oxys were hard, and I must admit I am on suboxone but I need it right now as it has only been 7 weeks since the oxys. god bless you and stay strong my "Aussie Shelia:

OnOxys - I answered your PM, hope it helps

Hobo91 - hi mate, Nurofen Plus are an over the counter thing that have codeine 12.8mg and ibuprofen 200mg. The amount of codeine is small and so as addcition progresses, and one has to take more and more to get the codeine buzz, one also ends up taking heaps of ibuprofen, which does shocking things to stomach, kidneys etc. Its bad stuff - my story is that I have a history of addiction (heroin, methdaone, alcohol, anything really) and after getting totally clean and sober for some five/six years, I started taking over the counter codeine for migrane headaches. For a long while I was using it properly and carefully, but then it started to be more frequent, then daily, and now for the past 3-4 years it has been up as many as 40+ tablets per day. Bad health problems including bleeding ulcers, kidney issues etc. And still can't stop. Thankfully I have not gone back to heroin etc, although I tell you, the tablets are bad enough.

Would you be willing to get some medical help e.g. go into detox? There are no Australian sites that I am aware of (there was one for nurofen plus but it is shutting down), I have found this one to be very helpful. There are a number of options you could try, depending on your pain/medical condition and preferences:
1. cold turkey detox at home or in a detox facility
2. gradually tapering down - doable, but challenging
3. suboxone therapy

Based on my experience, some kind of aftercare is essential - be it counselling, support groups, twelve step fellowships such as narcotics anonymous etc.

If you ever want to chat, feel free to message me, all the very best to you

Hi mate, sorry I'm not familiar with Tramadol but I am in Australia and just wanted to say hello, welcome, keep hanging around here - tramadol is mentioned lots, and I think there are a couple of threads going for people who are trying to get off it - it s*u*x in any language/country. I wish you all the best.

Im in Sydney, addicted to Nurofen Plus tablets by the way - nice to come accross another aussie :-)
