Adderall After Effects

I am a hard-core Adderall addict.  I've used for three years, snorting it all the time, sometimes up to 250 mgs a day.  I have been clean for six months now, and though I have passed through the exhausted, helpless, dark stage, I still dont have the energy I had before I took it at all.  Does anyone know how long it takes to completely heal from this nasty drug?  I know I have lost dopamine due to abuse and wondered if that would ever come back.

As for the cravings, they are still there.  Do they ever go away?  I don't want to go back to using it, but this lousy feeling might make me cave in.  The only thing keeping me from doing it is knowing I will be thrown out of my home if I use.

Help!

Thanks for your input!

In answer to your questions, I go to two recovery groups plus counseling every week.  I can't seem to get a straight answer about the dopamine.  Perhaps nobody really knows.

Though I am proud of the six months, I know from going through this over and over again, this is only the beginning.

Hi,

I dont have any knowlegde or experience with this drug, but what I do know is addiction is addiction. As time passes while being clean, everything gets better. Its not always easy, but life is better. You may never have that energy level again, but it was probably false energy anyway. Dont u think??

Cravings lessen with time too. Are you getting any aftercare? Like Meetings or counseling?

Hang in there and keep posting here. You'll get lots of good feedback and support.
