Adderall

I supposedly have fibromyalgia..not so sure about that but i will admit i have extreme fatigue and an utterrly too active work schedule and family schedule..and i am so tired i have to take a nap at lunch at work..i come home and do it course...but if i had a job where i couodnt lay down during the day i wouldnt make it...and i worry my boss may cut out my going home for lunch...my doctor suggested adderall...well it is called vivace or sumpin like that...gotta look it up....but it is like adderall for all intents and purposes..a bit worried bout filling it and i have not...anyone else take this?  I know it can be psycholigically additing and i worry...but i gotta move...i get jealous of those with tons of energy..as i have so little it seems...anyway just throwing it out there to see what others have experienced with amphetamines like theses

I am so thankful to those who posted..addict3..u r right..and that is my concern..addictive meds will just probably grow in dose with me...may not stay a good or safe dose for me and then I have to feel yucky to get off of it...I dont want to deal with that..mtgoat..i agree..risk vs benefit..I have to work...and I am getting to the point where it is hard due to lack of energy...and trouble..they have been trying to tell me i have fibro for years and i still dont really accept that..and yes..i have had all those tests run...everything is normal...I feel that my pain is evidenced by any xrays or mri's   it is right there and my pain is caused by the screwed up spine i have/they can not fix it/so sometimes i feel like u get labeled....dont like that diagnosis at all as i feel it is vague and my pain has a cause that is easily seen....but i do have extreme fatigue and constantly get sick and pick up stuff most people dnt/and i dont have hiv either as i even tested for that cos i get sick so much.....pain can make u fatigued tho/and i am 49 yrs old with a haul as8 job and lifestyle....thanks rtr....and domino too.....it is a choice that is hard cos i need to pay my bills...one reason i have hesitated is cos anything that makes me tense worsens my back pain..and this is a stimulant so i feel this may happen...still have not filled it..what he said makes sense/the dr/and he knows my history as I have been completely honest with him..he even knows I have taken sub given to me by friends in the past when i was out of pills...and even tho he is a doctor/he is not an addict...and there is a big difference btw those who r an addict and those who r not when it comes to drugs..and even a very respected dr who has not been there/addiction/can not know how hard it is for someone who is an addict to take drugs like this...the depression that lasts for months after detox and such as many/most of the population does not have these issues/they go thru the physical part/non-addicts do/but not the mental part like an addcit does..but u guys do know what I am saying and that is why i asked/and thanx

i have taken adderal, ritalin, concerta, for adhd and i tried phentermine which is also an ampetamine for weight loss
not sure if you read my story on the heath pages but i started my addiction age 9 with ritalin
i also have hep c which causes extreme fatigue (and right not i am unisured i think my thyriod levels are low) i have taken excetorin which has caffine in it, just to make it through the day, but i felt horrible, yes i was awake but not energetic
thats the thing with the prescription adhd and diet meds, they will help you out for like a couple of weeks, then your tollerance builds and you need more and more, and when you start coming down off the speed its like coming down off of cocaine, big crash, depression, confusion, anger that sort of thing
i did not know this at the time i was taken adderal , but i later found out that these pills are sold on the streets to junkies because they can be broken down and shot up , "legal coke" is what people are now calling adderall
i guess its a risk vs benifits type of thing

Worried,
I always find your posts' informative, intresting and insightfull. You were one of the first people who answered my initial cry for help about a year ago.

I think you know the answer to this........you are an addict, how do you think you can take something like this without it coming back to bite you somehow? There is a problem somewhere and you are a nurse, you know you need a diagnosis of what that problem is and, potentially addicting meds. are not the answer for you or me.
I hope you are able to get the proper treatment for this.
L tyrosine? I don't know ................I was diagnosed with fibro. also and that was what started my hydro useage, please get a 2nd opnion.

I do not intend to sound hurtfull. I wish you the best in making your decision.
Good Luck!

have you had bloodwork done? maybe you are anemic? or thyroid problems? lots of things can cause severe fatigue (Im anemic myself). I was also diagnosed iwth fibromyalgia years ago and for awhile I believed it. But along time ago, i realized I dont actually have it. THe pain i had was actually WD back when i was naive and had no clue what was wrong with me. I didnt realize i was having WD and thats what the pain was from. My dr's didnt realize it either and slapped me with a fibro label and sent me on my way.  ANyhow, Im not saying you do or dont have fibro, but just wondered if youve have other bloodwork and tests done to find out why you are so sleepy? Maybe sleep apnea is a possibility too. Maybe you are not sleeping/breathign right at night and need a CPAP machine. Like i said theres lots of possiblities as to why you are having this problem, and i definitely wouldnt take the adderal to try and cover up this problem..good luck to you and keep us posted!

I feel exactly like you lately...not sure if it is stress, or kids, etc...just energy not there...that is why i had asked you a question about providgiel s/p??

I do have a friend that takes adderall, and she takes a very low dose, and said that it has made a hugh difference...my son takes vyanse, and from the doctor told me , was that it was alot better then adderall, and less addicting...idk, that is all i have in my experience..

I have been trying vitamin things for energy, but feel just like you lately...
