You might just want to go to a detox center. You are taking what I was taking about 240 mg a day. I was taking 60mg 3-4 times a day. I tried a taper but a fast taper is not without its problems.I went down to 150mg a day and I started losing time. I hallucinated at night nothing bad but still was weird. I couldnt sleep. Thats hard on the rest of the family So I went to a rehab facility. Thats going to be cold turkey and its uncomfortable to say the least. I had bad nausea and diarrhea for 2 days. Then I started crawling to the shower, and forced myself to eat. You will have no appetite but you need your strength so eat. You will have little energy, but each day things get a little better. You get to talk to a doctor once a day. While I was in treatment (7 days) they gave me trazidone (to sleep) and gave me suboxone 2 mg twice a day to help with the cravings. I got out on day 7 and enrolled in a outpatient program. I was in a fog for a couple weeks. I would not have been able to go to work for the first 3 weeks or so (this is just based on my experience) I started tapering off the suboxone which is important. Then in about 40 days (which seems like forever but its really quick ) I started feeling a little bit more like my old self before I became addicted to oxy. They told me it could take 18-24 months before you get your old self back and that was scary. I didnt want to feel like that for 2 years!!! But by eating right, and doing some exercise things came back quick. Oxy robs your testosterone. Your sex life goes to hell on oxy. But even that comes back. You need to take care of your spiritual self. That gets things back even faster. If you can do a taper managed by a doctor thats good but too quick and you will start having some symptoms I talked about. If you have insurance and can go to a facility that would be good too. The thing is YOU are NOT the only one and shouldnt feel shame about needing help. Once you start getting better you will be amazed how many people in your area that have been sucked into this. Its not a weakness. The medical system is set up for you to get hooked. You are an easy paycheck for the people writing your scripts. So get out of the system. There are so many people out there willing to help too in your area. AA NA or Celebrate recovery meetings are all over the place with people ready to support you. Just go to your church and ask for help. Take advantage of all the support thats just waiting for you to walk through the door at no cost to you! Its that important to your community to get you back healthy. Its out there its possible and people want to help!!!
welcome and I have to repeat the previous post ( 10356 ) JUST GET YOURSELF READY WITH A PLAN AND GET STARTED.
Hello Superman76 Welcome to the forum. That is a lot, is there any way you can do a fast taper as that would help some.. There are things you can do to help yourself. Over the counter products, Valerian Root for the Anxiety.. Hylands restful leg for the RLS.. Epson's salt for the Bath as many as you can force yourself to take It forces magnesium into your muscles It helps with the pain.. Advil, Imodium, a sorts drink and some protein drinks they are packed with vitamins.. pudding easy stuff to eat.. Music and movies.. Maybe some sleepy time tea our Melatonin but sleep will be the last to return.. Try to force yourself into a shower as often as you can it helps as does walking moving that helps more then anything. Keep coming back with any questions and we will support you. I wish you well and Hope this helps, lesa
