Addiction lortabs/percs

Hey i need help with something.  In the past 16 days i have take 70 percocet 10mg.  Thats an average of a little over 4 per day.  Before that i took about 50 lortabs, didnt take any pills for a week or two, then took these 70 percs in 16 days.  I got in a car accident and they help my neck pain.  Now i have a chance to get 40 lortabs again.  The ingredients in lortabs and perc, that we get "addicted to" are different right?  I just want your views on if you think ill be ok to get these 40 lortabs.   The 40 should last me 10 days and im assuming the pain will be gone by then.  I know this sounds confusing but my main concern is addition.  Am i going to feel withdrawal from the 70 percs in 16 days?  If so, will gettin the 40 lortabs make it worse?  or will it not matter cuz the ingredients are different.  I suppose i could get through the next 10 days without anything, but pain sucks.  My MAIN concern is addiction/withdrawals.  thanks to everyone in advance for their responses.

Thank you!  that encourages me to not take another one again as my main concern is how it will feel if i stop.  See here is the problem.  i am looking for a job right now. Its a long story but hey we got time right?  lol.  Well i quit my job almost 2 years ago and became a professional poker player.  Ive done reasonably well, but trust me, living in vegas and living that lifetyle leads to MANY dangers, including how easy it is for me to get these pills!  Anyway ive begun to look for a job again, and actually ive got several interviews set up for next week.  The main reason im on this board is im afraid that ill feel withdrawal and it will affect how i feel for these interviews upcoming.  Im in a very transitional point of my life and its very important that i feel well during these interviews and job search.  Make sense?  Thanks, i think youve helped a lot!

Oh anotehr thing is the docs give you pills and say take them every 4-6 hours.  I have averaged slightly over 4 a day, so thats not really taking them more than perscribed.  But i took lortabs before these..........so ive taken maybe 130 pills(some lortab, some percs) in a month, with a little time off in between.  sounds like you are saying DONT get the lortabs.  i accept that and thank you.  Will an average of like a little over 4 pills a day in 30 days cause withdrawal?  mild?  Severe?  And the fact that half were lortabs and half were percs make the withdrawal less?  I just want to know what to expect, ijust took my last pain pill EVER!  thanks for  the encourament!

After 16 days I doubt you will really notice much physical withdrawal at all.  I really doubt it.  But if you get this next script filled, I say probably so. And it will just get worse and worse and worse!
So stay away as much as possible those pills are truly evil.

The fact that half were lortabs and half were percs will make no difference whatsoever.  It is opiate addiction.  They are both opiates.  Its like if an alcoholic drank beer and switched to whisky, they would still be an alcoholic and be perpetuating the addiction.  consider them one in the same.
Oh, and VERY mild withdrawal after 4 pills per day for a month.  I used to take about that amount and did for more like 2-3 months and it was no big deal, I have had colds that are worse! Don't be afraid of the withdrawal.   If you even have any at all....at this point, you may not!

Thanks, and trust me i believe you.  Even while taking them i notice they dont make me feel great.  let me explain.  When i take them of course it takes away my pain and makes me feel slightly high.  But i have feelings after that  which are negative.  For one i feel depressed when the "high" wears off, and two i feel guilty.  I do have pain, but sometimes i take them just cuz i like them.  I wont get teh next 40 lortabs, you are right.  the pain is still there but its not so bad and to be honest, mostly i wanted 40 more lortabs cuz i like how they make me feel.  so you are right, im already thinking like an addict.  I just hope i dont feel sick when i stop taking these, lol which was oh an hour ago!

That totally makes sense!  I very highly doubt that the w/d you are facing is anything that would affect the interviews!  PLEASE take this opportunity to keep heading in the right direction!!!  You sound like you are making some really positive changes in your life and I guarantee that addiction to pain pills will turn you into a miserable and unproductive person.
You just remind me a lot of myself in the beginning of my addiction and words cannot express how much regret, pain, humiliation, guilt, money, etc my addiction has cost me.  But that's the thing about addiction, the ends are always the same!
Take these new job opportunites and run with them...just make sure you are running AWAY from the pills, lol
Btw, are you still living in Vegas?  I love Vegas!  Haven't been there since last July, which is probably a good thing, cause that place can be trouble :)

Thank you, your advice has been received and im going to use it.  Yes i still live in vegas.  I havent been in a casino in a week though.  Ive been spending my time updating and sending out my resume.  looking for a job mostly.  Plus i need to NOT spend money, until i find a job.  I may play poker tonight or this weekend though.  Like i said im very good and its profitable.  Ive just learned its not the lifestyle that i want to lead.  Ive made a lot of money in the past 2 years.  However, ive also lost a lot on other forms of gambling.  Not to mention all the other money ive spent in casinos on food, beer, etc.  Now the pills.  Ive gotten them from a doc, but ive also gotten them from people i see out at casinos.  One guy in particular.  it actually got to the point where this guy came looking for me hoping to sell some to me.  These are thing ive realized are not positive for me and my life.  Luckily i told him no, but truth be told, its was mostly because i didnt want to spend the money.  Take this for example.  I take your advice and stop taking these.  Then one day im out playing poker, having soem beers and up 2k for the night.  This guy with the pills sees this and comes up to me and tells me he has some percs or lortabs.  Uh, what are the chances of me saying no at that point?  LOL this is why i think its best to go back to work.  not thats example specifically, but the fact that there are MANY temptations in casinos when you spend most of your week in one.  Thanks again for all your advice and encouragement.

The point is that they are both opiates and your "hungry" opiate receptors won't know the difference.  Consider them one in the same.  Although, yes, chemically they are different.  But they are both opiates and that is what will feed the addiction.
Don't end up like me.  STOP NOW!!!! Try ibuprofin and if you have pain to where you must have narcotics for, then do not ever ever ever abuse them by taking more than prescribed or more often.  If you aren't already addicted, it sounds like you are definitely beginning to think like an addict and you will absolutely 100% regret going down that road...probably more than you could ever imagine.
So...if you are gonna take the narcs, take them as prescribed.
I really hope you are successful!!!!

Oh and FLaddict i know, back 6 days ago you suggested i just stop taking them, but my neck was really bothering me.  i only "took" 20 in 6 days, so i really minimized it.  Im NOT taking another Percocet, EVER.  My main concern is no addition.  I just want to know if i will feel withdrawal(i just took my last one), and if getting the 40 lortabs will help or hurt.  Thanks.
