I have read and heard about the electronic cigarettes and how healthy they are. I would like to know if electronic cigarettes are safe?

Are they safe? Well you don't get any tar so they're unlikely to cause cancer, but they still contain nicotine so as a giving up aid they're a bit dubious.

I've seen a number of people use them. and in a couple of weeks they get thrown away and the real cigarettes come back out.

I Vape....i vape electric cigs and love it.  U can get them with or without nicotine..and there r different types.  Nicotine is not what causes cancer and vaping is safe for u and those around u...if u add nicotine, it is in the caffeine family and is addicting but not cancer causing.  I dont use nicotine in mine anymore and make my own juice as u need a liquid or a moist cartridge/which can be bought pre-made or made urself /as it is a steam or vapor that is produced and not smoke.  
It is great for stopping smoking cos it mimicks the action of smoking without bothering folks and stinking everything up.  U can get high, medium, low and nicotine free juice or cartridges.  A smoker can progress down the line to no nicotine or even keep on with the nicotine if so be it.  Vaping is still better/way better and much less expensive than smoking.

It is a battery that is recharged like a cell phone and used over and over..there is a second/or third in some cases/piece which heats up the liquid and turns it to a vapor
not sure if it is truly electric but it battery operated
