How do I taper off of Ativan and Ambien?  I have bipolar disorder

I don´t know why US physicians insist on only treating half of the bipolar syndrome. High anxiety and depresion is what characterizes it. Anti-anxiety drugs such as: Ativan and Ambien, only serve to worsen the depresive state in these patients. Lithium carbonate tends to work better for both, high anxiety and depresive states.

HI.....I also have bipolar disorder and had to get off xanex witch is similar to atavan
your going to need the help of your phyic dr to do it it is a slow tapering process to avoid seizures this sit is all about home detoxing but benzo's need a  doctors help he can percsribe  smaller and smaller doses till your off of it it can take a wile depending on how long you have been on it and at what dose its very doable but it can be uncomfortable
just let your doctor know you want off and he/she will set up a safe taper good luck and God bless.......Gnarly
