Addiction

by Mark, Sep 12, 1999 12:00AM
I have been 2.5 to 3.0 mgs of Ativan a day for one year now. When I try to taper off, I become extremely nervous and a little panicky. Also, my stomach flares up, and all of this stops literally within minutes if I continue my regular dosage. I am ashamed to admit all of this to my doctor, as he doesn't seem to believe that this drug is terribly addictive. He thinks it is primarily "psychologically" addictive. What should I do?
