Addiction

Just wanted to make a reccommendation that if that kid comes back on from the other night that makes fun of us addicts that we ignore her.  She stays on here to get a rise out of us, I think she may have a problem but until she is willing to admit something, we really need to ignore her for now.  Just a suggestion, anyone have any thoughts?

i think you are very right.  to respond is just adding fuel to her fire.  i was not in on that post, but i think it may have been the same peron that was on a few days before that said pop pop pop those pills.  such foolishness.  and it is not like you are going to make a difference with anything you say.  and the motto of this forum is compassion.

You are great!!  Yeah on Friday, flmagi and I decided that she had a problem and to see if we could get some information out of her, but she kept refusing and then she finally got kicked off.  It kills me that she thinks that all addicts steal and can't function.  I never stole money from my friends and I have contiuously worked throughout, most people don't know that I have a problem unless I have told them.

That is exactly what we started doing.  We were being very kind to her, but just responding to her, encourages her to be nastier.

Oh God, Has she been back?  She really needs some help but if shes not willing to spill her guts here and ask for help.....well, she wore me out pretty quick.
Opi: More power to you. Maybe you can help her, you obviuosly have a hell of alot more patience than I do. Go for it. You are someone very, very special. I hope you know that.

No she hasn't been back but the thought came into my head that we needed a united front to deal with her.  She definately has it out for Opi and he is very patient with her.

Yeah, she must have connected with Opi on some level. Its good. Opi's are connectable kinda people.

Yeah maybe she relates to his addiction more so she needs to poke fun of him the most. The girl has serious issues though and I don't feel like playing games with her anymore.

No need for apologies. She was extremely hateful and rude. It took every ounce of patience in me not to slame it to her. I just happened to be in an extremely helpful mood when she came on.
But I think its best we try to ignore her unless she really asks for help.
