Addictions

Ok, migraines started 2 years ago - was given of different kind of medications until it worked for me. I was given of Tylenol #3 (as needed if Imitrex didn't help) and Imitrex for migraine. Then last year, I started having back problem. For few months, with first MRI, they didn't find anything wrong with my back. But neurogolist gave me 5/500mg of Vicodin for my lower back pain anyway and also take it for my migraine as well if Imitrex didn't help. Then couple of months later, I had MRI again at different hospital and they found BULGE disc (Sagittal T1 and T2; axial T1 - L5-S1) then upped to 7.5/750mg of Vicodin. I was also given of Xanax, Mortin 800mg and Flexeril.

don't feel stupid for posting here .nobody really judges you here. they just give their opinion and your not alone with your addiction.  all you can do is maybe try and take care of yourself and if you need pain medicine so be it.  Just control the intake and watch your tolerence.  my aunt is on serious meds and she funtions just fine.  she doesn't take 20 a day or anything like some folks do.  no judgement just a fact, anyways she takes them for pain and goes to pain doc.  just take what you need so you can function but you may not get as high thats the addiction the high but just to be out of pain is a high so just take it easy and don't overdo it.  noone has to live with pain but eventually it be nice to know where the pain stems from and if can't be fixed then a person has to learn to control the pain meds  its real simple really just have to be honest with yourself thats most important.  please don't go reading these stories can help you not abuse your meds.

I'm in pain and I like the feeling high so its both. I get daily pain from my lower back. If I didn't take pain med for one day, I'll be in hell pain. I wouldn't be able to do anything except sit and do nothing all day. It's making me miserable... I have to keep going because I have two little ones. It's not like I can sleep all day if I want to. I don't get enough sleep... so when I feel tired, I pop them that way it'll keep me awake and going. *Sigh* My man doesn't like it when I sleep too much he'd ***** and moan at me, saying why you sleep too much, etc and say he want me to take care of kids like watch them .. not just him doing all the work. Nobody knows that I'm having this problem... I just haven't told anyone. When I was out of it, I'd sleep lot that I go through wds... I go through that few times. My man didn't get the clue what I am going through.. I guess he's blind, or something. I don't know.

I got refills on 3/20 for #60 pills of Vicodin. Right now... 3/26 I have 22 left. I was suppose to take 2x a day as directed, but I didn't follow and took more than what it was needed. Argh! I always get refills once every month. It's just so HARD not to take too much... just to take 2 x a day like you said. I am trying so hard to start tapering by reducing doses little at a time then stick with 2 x a day for now on, you know? I feel I have no willpower or something. Ugh.

dyblue:

What does "ct" means? I've been trying to figure out what it stands for.

hellc@mst:

cold water extraction? No, I never heard of this. Can you please tell me more about that?

Engine:

No, I'm not in fire service.

I'm not 100% ready to w/d but I still would need some more advice how I can taper, etc.

the body can cope with 4gms of apap per day indefinately.not that id try.if u r not yet ready 2 give up u might wanna try harm reduction.ever heard of the cold water extraction.yr liver could use a break.reactions to apap od are often dlayed, with people normally dying days after ingestion.had a talk about this the other day with a nurse who specializes in hepC.take care.

I know people that have what you have and they take over the counter stuff because they don't want to get into this.  your already  there so start tapering if your scared to go ct but you alone have to want to otherwise its futile because when your not a kid anymore people don't seem to care unless their in the same vote that why this is a good place.  the hospitals and stuff will catch on eventually then you could be labelled a drug seeker and that suc ks.  change now while it not too long the longer the harder.  good luck you'll be ok forgive yourself it happens all the time to anybody.  a little bit of pain never killed anybody its the mental stuff that does.

At first, I had no addictions or dependence on opiates until about last year, I started taking more than what it was needed just to feel good "high". I didn't realize what I was doing until few months ago and realized what I'm doing to myself. I realized that now I have addictions on opiates. I'd take up to (usually) 15 pills per day. I do know that APAP is high and it is not good. I could ask for lower APAP, but then doc would question to why I want lower APAP and raise suspicsions, you know? It's just so hard to control myself - to take what I neeed, not just to feel good "high." I'd just keep popping it. Everytime I run out of them, I'd go through WD's few times and wait for refills I say to myself - this time, take easy... don't take too much of them, etc. But yet, I just keep popping them anyway until I realize that I'm out of it. Same pattern over and over again. I really want to get off it, but I'm just afraid of having to suffer with pain. My lower back problem and what if Imitrex didn't help and what pain medication can I take? Mortin 800 won't cut it and Flexeril will just make me very sleepy so I only take them before I go bed at night. I wish I have somebody that I can give meds to and just give me medications when I need them, but I don't. I don't know what to do. I've been in and out ER to get relief for the pain. So, knowing if I'm out of it... I'd drive to ER, get treated, then doc would give me RX for pain medications. I've done that few times. Any help, advice, or anything would be appreciated. Thanks.
