Dont forget you can take advil and tylenol at the same time. It works for me. There is also an implant you can have done. It has leads that go into your back and messes up the pain receptors from reaching your brain. I looked into it as a plan for the furure if the otc stops working. It has had some great results for chronic back pain do to failed back surgery.
Oh...and if you get into PT ask the therapist to try a TENS unit on you. You should be able to tell right away if it's going to help. Also ask about ETPS. Electro Therapeutic Point Stimulation. It's technically a TENS, but it works on trigger points like accupuncture. The PT will be able to make the recommendation to your Md. so that you can get the Ins Co. to cover it.
Yes DO ask your Dr. for a TENS unit. Sometimes you can rent one to see if it helps before buying. My ins. didn't cover it and the company sold it to me at half what they charge Ins.. It was worth every penny. I had just put mine on before I read your post.
Havn't tried to wear it while riding yet...
For me personally, Advil is my OTC DOC for pain, although it doesn't work for my back and rib pain. The only thing that seems to help is a TENS unit. It's like everything else though, and it isn't perfect. I will be asking my doc for a PT script next time I'm there. I'm hoping that that will help, and if I can get myself into a place with a pool I think that'd be perfect. Ask your doc for an RX for a TENS unit. It can't hurt to try. I hope you feel better.
thanks sweet pea,,, I'll go get some advil...
Yes advil works!! Its an amazing discovery!! I hope you feel better.........sara
