After relapsing I'm finally seeing clearer then ever b4!

After a couple relapses within the past 2 weeks I think I'm finally back to being me!! Thank u evryone for ur advice an sorry it took me awhile to actually take it. It was like I was possesed.  Something just kinda clicked n me and all of sudden I was well aware of everything that was happening around me and very well aware of th road I was taking! I'm doing things differently this time around. Not only will I continue 2 c my counselor every week but I'm also going to attend meetings. After rearranging my schedule at work I'm going to attend my first meeting tonight! If I get the urge to go out or the urge to use I'm gonna call out 4 support.!  I have 2 put my sobreity first this time no matter what! I know the road ahead of me and I know n my heart I can overcome it! Thanks to everyone who stuck it out with me! U guys r great! Thanks again!

Thanks for telling me about the thread. Just read it. So sad!  It only opened my eyes even more and has made me more determined to not ever go back there to that dark place.

Thank u 4 everythng... I don't know y I'm so terrified of my first meeting. I know it will be very benficial for me. I'll get to meet other sober people who understand me and what I'm going thru. I'm making myself go. I'm kinda excited. :D !

HI Angie im so happy for your change of heart...it sounds like your ready to fight again
going to a meeting is huge...push past the awkwardness and you will be welcome with open arms..I hope you get a lot out of it...now that your mind is made up to stay clean you will find it a bit ezer to do....just remember when someone asks you to go out...the clean and sober Angie is going to say no...so your off to a good start yesterday was day 1 your already most of the way threw day 2 and like they say its one day at a time...or "just for today" your going to make it this time around...just remember to reach out b/4 you use ....the next few weeks will come with trials its up to you with what you do with them...stay strong and fight...your truly are fighting for your life so give it your all...continue with aftercare it helps out greatly
and if you ever just need a friend im out here for you...I wish you all the luck in the world Angie...I will continue to pray for your successes your friend Mark

That thread was so sad it also gave me chills.defintly opened my eyes more....

I attendted my first meeting. However I didn't really like the meeting itself. There was 4 people there all togeather. But I got alot more out of it after the meeting was over. I talked with another girl there and she is also 27 and has the same story as me. We exchanged numbers. It's kinda a relief to finalyy have sum1 I can hang out wtb who knows my struggles and gets it.... I'm not givin up on the meeting I'll continue to go until I find one that works for me.

two good things from a meeting you didn't like it very much..

1 you have met someone you can relate and can talk to her, that's good :)

2 you said that you are going back until you find one that works for you.... That's great... clean life means that we know there are no instant solutions and we need working on what we think is the right step to take for our lives, that's it...and you are doing it, congrats for this, angie :)
