Aftercare options

Hi everyone,

I've been clean off tramadol come up 3 weeks. The worse part of withdrawing is over. My question that I'm putting out to everyone is what kind of aftercare plans have you used to keep yourself clean? I fully understand the need for aftercare and hence why I'm trying to plan what would be best for me.

If you could give me ideas or even what you have or are using that would be a great help..

Thanks in advanced

If you choose aa or na for aftercare get yourself a sponsor someone who has been in the program for a while.  That will tell you what you need to hear not what you want to hear. This will help you to stay clean sharing in meetings and listening to others tell their problems so it will work if you work the program.  Hang in there.

Sure - meetings (aa or na) - a therapist, addictionologist - any of those things work really well for a lot of our members.  Actually I started to see a therapist after I quit but after a while started to realize I was becoming HER therapist and began to leave there more stressed out than when I arrived.

So I turned to my husband, and this place, and that's worked wonders for me.  But we're all different, you just have to decide, based on your personality, what you think will benefit you the most.

And really great that you're thinking about aftercare - it's so important!   And congrats on the pending three weeks!  :)
