hi I use a bunch of stuff N/A has worked for me as well as a substance abuse conslor also my church has been an enormous help I go to a all mens bible study with 3 recovering addicts if you hit it from a few different angles you will find out witch one best works for you I still do all the above but that just me
you on the right track seeking it out without it I dont think I would have a week clean good luck with your recovery let us know how you make out......Gnarly
Good advice avisg the Church was a aftercare for me also. If it works work it.
smart recovery, a chucrch pastor sometimes you have to try a few diffrent things to find the right fit for you
If you choose aa or na for aftercare get yourself a sponsor someone who has been in the program for a while. That will tell you what you need to hear not what you want to hear. This will help you to stay clean sharing in meetings and listening to others tell their problems so it will work if you work the program. Hang in there.
Sure - meetings (aa or na) - a therapist, addictionologist - any of those things work really well for a lot of our members. Actually I started to see a therapist after I quit but after a while started to realize I was becoming HER therapist and began to leave there more stressed out than when I arrived.
So I turned to my husband, and this place, and that's worked wonders for me. But we're all different, you just have to decide, based on your personality, what you think will benefit you the most.
And really great that you're thinking about aftercare - it's so important! And congrats on the pending three weeks! :)
