As someone who spent 11 years in active alcoholism and then got into active drug addiction after being dry for 9 years, I tend to view alcohol as just one of many substances that will feed the disease of Addiction. To me, it all the same - alcohol, opiates, speed, coke - it's all Addiction.
If what you're hoping to find is a lot of alcohol-specific posts, you're not likely to have that hope met here. But, if you mentally substitute the word "alcohol" everytime you hear a different substance mentioned, you might find a lot of wisdom here.
