Alcohol

I have been an alcoholic for over 5 years, drank daily from 7am till blackout. I put myself in inpatient which was very helpful. However when I got to my initial 90 day mark I drank. What causes that? Was I not working the program? I went to AA 3x a day for 90 days. Now I have started over and am coming up on 60 days and I don't want to do the relapse again. Any suggestions? I still go to AA 3x a day and have a sponsor. Carol

3 months 6 months and 12 months can be tricky you some times get a overwhelming desire to drink.  So when you come up on 3 months again talk to other members in the program and they will help you get over the jouncing for alcohol and your sponsor is important call he or she when you think you are going to relapse dont wait till you have done relapsed.  Work the 12 steps you are powerless over alcohol.   A higher power as we call it will help also.  Hang on to your soberity.

I'm a recovering alcoholic, and a pill head. I haven't drank for about 24 years. From what I remember, most alcoholics will relapse at least once before staying sober. The fact that you know you're an alcoholic and are trying to do something about it is monumental. Bottom line, it takes some of us a lot longer to wise up than others. Work the program and you'll make it. Keep posting.
