Alternative to abusing pain pills

by texasrebecca, Mar 14, 2007 12:00AM
My mother in law has MS, a muscle disease that causes horrible pain.  Her pain managment doctor makes all his patients alternate their pain medicine with Stadol.  It is an agonist, and keeps the body from getting addicted (so she tells me).  If you need to take pain medicine due to real pain, check with your doctor about this medicine, or some like it.  Both are narcotics, but when used alternately, they are supposed to keep your body from becoming dependant on either one.

***I don't know this for sure, but you could check into it.***

If you are on hydrocodone, or diladid (sp), or morphine type meds, if you take STADOL, it will throw you into QUICK withdrawls!  I know this first hand!!!

Just ask!

After I had one of my kids in the hospital I asked for pain meds and it was to soon after my c-section to give me anythiing I was looking for so they gave me staydol.  OMG, I wigged out, I ended up calling the nurses and telling them I couldnt breath and I thought I was having a heart attack.  They had to give me oxygen and they said it happens quite a bit, lol.  It was so embarassing, I can see how if I had to take stadol that I wouldnt be using at all LMAO.,... But, I have heard people request it.  I guess it would of been ok if I wouldnt of wigged out so bad...How are you doing today???  Did you call the police???  Huggs, G

OMG give me vicodin or anything else for that matter, any day compared to stadol, it's the drug from HELL, they gave it to me and I freaked out, vomited all over, crapped myself, completely soaked with sweat, (and I don't ever sweat), shaking uncontrollably, it lasted for HOURS, so BE CAREFUL!!!!

many of you know my situation with my sons, but what you don't know is that i too suffer from back pain from an injury that occured around 10 years ago.  i know there are many different back injuries here as well as many surgeries and treatments performed.  when my back gets so bad that my legs will barely move, i get an epidural spinal injection...it works wonders for me.  i was just wondering if any else had had one and the outcome of it.

Well, it's different for everyone, but herbs and vitamins helped me a lot, along with breathing pure oxygen and excersise, good luck!
