Am I becoming a drunk?

Im 17, 6'1" 140lb male years old and snort my own Ritalin and smoke pot, but as of now my biggest worry is that I am going down the road of an alcoholic. I have  had to take my Ritalin late at night and in order to calm myself down so that I can fall asleep I've begun to drink 5-6 shots of 80 proof booze. That doesn't really worry me because I look at the internal chemistry and look at how the two offset and say that's fine. I'm agitated an a bit anxious I take some shots and there I go I'm as cool as a cucumber I'm all set and after an hour I have no problem hitting the hay. Last night though i got into a fight with my parents and was super pissed and all I could think about was how badly I needed a few drinks. So i obliged and everything was great. I'm I headed down the path of becoming a serious alcoholic? How can I create a negative association with alcohol so I don't feel like I need it to feel OK. (Making myself hate it by over drinking and feeling ****** wont help because a few weeks ago I had about 14 shots blacked out at a party crawled to the toilet threw up went back to the table had 4 more and then blacked out for the night)

so u are what taking or snorting ritalin .then cant get to sleep u have a bunch of shots and go to bed.  six 1 and 140 r u kidding what is really going on with u?? u like ritalin or booze?? this clesrly isnt working for u but i am glad u found this site its a start when u realize there might be a problem . do u take ritalin in the am? have u tried other drugs? like to hear from u

I take it if i have real late homework and have to get it done with some quality I snort it because of the instant onset. im prescribed the ritalin and am working myself of snorting it because Im  beginning to cause damage to my septum. Ive moved from drinking to strictly fall asleep to drinking to fell happy. I'm trying to find a way to stop both but i don't know where to go from here.

you drink to comr down off the ritalin.. so dont use ritallin at night then u will sleep w/out have to get bombed. dont start this pattern now all u have to do is not take rit at night. Is this possible for u ? what other thing have u tried? this is not thay big of a prob. if u can use ritalin early u will b ok.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

This is a very serious thing.  Does anyone know what you are doing?  Is there anyone you can talk to in your family about this?  Snorting meds can be deadly all by itself and then you are adding alcohol to the mix.  Are you under alot of stress?  Keep talking to us.        sara

HI....your getting what I call sideways the rattlin gets you high the booze puts you down hence sideways.....this is dangerous to do you should never mix an upper with a depressant you need to find someone you can confide in for some help ....take it from an old hippie you dont want to go down this road.....you have many addictive behaviors going on if you could get to an N/A or A/A meeting you might just circumvent a life long disaster keep talking with us we can help........Gnarly
