Am I still suffering from Anxiety? or Damaged my heart

I recently was at a party and probably consumed around 1g of cocaine within 5 hours. At the time my heartrate was prob. around 110 which I felt fine. I was just sitting around, not dancing. We topped up every 20 minutes.  After around 2 hours of stopping my heartrate dropped to around 90, and then at 6:30am (2 hours after last line) it just ramped up to 160bpm. During this time I was sweating and and just trying to calm down and keep cool.
This high heartrate continued for around 2 hours.

The next day I had an ECG done, I told my doctor i did a long run, as i didnt want to tell him i was doing drugs. The 12 lead and they said my heartrate was fine & pressure was fine.

5 days later (no cocaine) I had another ECG done 12 lead and once again I was told everything was fine. Pressure was fine. I feel like I still have a lump in my esophagus, I clear my throat and it does away only to present itself within a couple of minutes.

One week after taking the cocaine , I have been feeling slightly lightheaded / foggy, and for the first time this week (7 days after the party) I ran up a flight of stairs (20 steps) and continued up a short incline (around 50meters). During this walk I could feel my heartrate go up steadily and hit around 110bpm... I felt very lightheaded and short of breath and just slowed right down. For around 1 hours after that I felt weak and lightheaded like I wanted to faint.
What's wrong with me? Have I damaged myself beyond repair?

My fitness normally is not like this at all. I still feel like a have a frog in the throat / upper chest area. (no pain) just uncomfortable.

Do you believe I have done major damage to my heart for keeping just a high bpm for 2hours? What tests should I do? or will my heart repair itself? An I still feeling anxious?

I've taken1/2 Valium tablet at night just to take my mind off it and sleep well. I woke up last night and my heartrate was prob. around 80bpm, but I don't know I felt weird.Maybe there was speed in the cocaine??

I am 36 years old.

I'm not a doctor, but I think you're just experiencing a "hangover" this time, perhaps the coke was mixed with speed.  You never know what dealers put in it to fluff it up.

It was only about a week ago, you've had two tests now, and they came out fine.  It would have been better if you could have told them what happened, but I understand being afraid to.

I used to get so anxious I would have a lump in my throat and it was so hard to swallow.  The more stressed out I got, the more it would happen.
You could be having some anxiety from all this, and it was just a week ago so flush your body with plenty of water, eat right, and take it easy, and in another week I bet you'll feel fine.

But please don't do drugs anymore.  You know, drugs aren't going to give you what you want, and they're not going to fill up that void you feel.

And, don't ever touch the **** unless your source is reliable.  Of course, I should be saying that you learned your lesson..bla bla....but, that's hogwash, I live in the real world and "I get it"  I am here to help you no-matter-what.......I don't turn my back on people like a pompass ***.

Anyway, off my soapbox.......If you had your heart checked and doc says your fine...your probably fine, but just don't stress yourself into a heart attack.  Stay away from the **** for a while, preferably FOR GOOD, but nobody can hold your hand and tell you what to do.

Give yourself a break, and keep a eye on yourself.

As Whitney once said..."crack is whack"  it will kill you ........eventually if you don't grow out of it!!

luv,
nauty...............

The worse nightmares and stories I have ever heard are coke related. I seen successful people turn into lunatics over the stuff. sell everything they own, wind up in the hood, getting rolled, beat up and then wind up getting arrested. some of em are still in prison.

not saying thats going to be you ,bro. but man does it have a track record.

did the stuff have the normal short term coke buzz.............because it sounds like the cut is bunk. sound like you got some really messed up stuff.

I've done coke around 5 times. Only one other time did I have my heart rate increase, however this only lasted around 1hour.

My only concern this time was that my heart was beating @ 160bpm for around 2 hours. I'm not overweight and never had any heart problems, normal cholesterol and generally eat well. I'm trying to work out if anyone else has been through this and how long it took them to recover. Ie: I don't feel it's critical that I see my doctor & put all this information on the table. If it's going to take me 1 month to recover physically  & mentally, then I'm fine with that.
Thanks to everyone who posts information on this.

street drugs  are a nightmare nowadays. they cut coke with a multitude of crud and  street pills are known to be a total joke, especially if its from mexico. you really gotta watch it. diabolical nutcases, here and overseas are pumping fake **** every where, that is made from hazardous chemicals and not even the real deal.

the amount you did would not normally cause your problems, I would guess. but were you on it before that?

Only your physician can tell you if you did any damage. Also, no one can tell if the cocaine was laced with anything.

I hope this was a wake up call for you.

Age doesn't matter. You can have a heart attack at any age. If you continue down this path it just may happen.

I really have to suggest that you get honest with your doctor. they cannot help you unless they have all the facts.
