Another question

Sorry to keep asking questions....But my boyfriend and I have been talking, and being that there is no way we can both go cold turkey togeather (due to our jobs and our son) we were thinking about taking less and less until we're off the pills completely.  We cut way back tonight....From several Diloudeds, OC80s, and Rococets a day each, to pliting one OC80 today).  We feel fine, we want more, but they are in the car and we're supporting eachother to keep them in the car.  I think we're doing pretty good right now.  I seem to want them a little more than he does, but Im confident that we can get through the night without taking any more....We're thinking that we'll take 40 mgs a day each for the next 3-4 days, then try to lower it to 30 for 3-4 days, then 20 for 2 days, 10 for 2 days, then 5 for 2days, then hopefully be done and not feeling to sh**ty.....This just kinda seems like we're prolonging it a little bit, but I feel like its better to take our time and go a little longer than to rush it and set ourselfs up for failiar....My worry is that by taking our time we might just fall back into it all.  Does anyone have an opinion on which is the better way to go?

What your talking about is tapering.
It can be done but required disapline.
I see now there is no husband in the picture you have a boyfriend and he uses too.

By your boyfriend using with you it makes your recovery many times harder and his.
Methadone, Suboxone, Subutex all work but have good and bad with them.
I agree with Wait again Methadone "can be" a deadly drug.
Do you guys have health insurance?
Do you guys have grandparents that would be willing to take your son for a while?

methadone is a deadly drug, especially 25 mgs for a first time user, that is just a death sentence!...way too many first time user deaths related to methadone...and yes, 1, 10 mg pill has killed a lot of people, fact!
3800 deaths related to methadone for the year 2007, up from about 400 methadone related deaths for the year 2006...
it is not a medicine to be played around with, which is why it is regulated so stringently.
steer clear of methadone...if you want the information and statistics, just let me know.
your life could be at stake, is that a chance your willing to take?

I have never taken methadone but can see what catchiec is saying. I would think it would be impossible to get hooked on something if only taken for 5 days. You would just have to make sure you do not take it for more than that. I don't think methadone is for everyone, but I can tell it helped catch.

Methadone is only horrible when people take it to long! It makes you skip all oxy withdrawal symptoms. Not everyone can afford a doctor or afford to take time off from work. I wouldnt be posting so adamently if I didn't know for a fact it works! it has worked for me, my bf and four of my friends that listened perfectly! If you do not take it more then 5 days you will not get hooked! they cost 15 dollars a pill and she only needs two of them. Why is everyone trying to make detoxing so hard for these people who need off quickly. You will not have withdrawals from Methadone if you only take it for five days lowering your dose by 5 mg every day. Meth will not get you high so there is no reason to become addicted to it. Methadone clinics keep people on it until they get hooked and thats why some people stay on it for a long time and end up with horrible withdrawals. Nothing will happen after five days of taking it except being able to get off both pills with out withdrawals in a matter of 5 days and all for 30 dollars. Again if anyone really wants to get off their is no reason not to try this. Please read what I said again very carefully
As long as you only tke Methadone for no more than 5 days you will have no withdrawals from it! I got off oxy's like this, so did my boyfriend and so did several of my friends. No missed time from work, no pain, no withdrawals, JUST YOUR LIFE BACK IN 5 DAYS! The people who tell you you get the worst withdrawals from Methadone are people who have been taking it for a while and become physically dependent on it. Even three weeks is to long to take Meth. BUT I PROMISE a thousand times over if you do what me and my bf and 4 of my friends did you will be done with pills in 5 days. 25mgs of Meth the first day, 20mgs the second, 15mgs the third, 10mg on the fourth and finally 5mg on the 5th day and then stop! You will be off both pills in 5 days and no withdrawals whatever. This is what works and the only way to get clean in 5 days without needing any pills ever. For anybody who tells Monkey that Meth has the worst withdrawal symptons ever, this is true only if you become dependent on it. YOU DO NOT BECOME DEPENDENT ON IT AFTER 5 DAYS DROPPING 5 MGS EACH DAY!  Monkey you will not have withdrawls and you will have your life back if you take my advice

You are prolonging it a bit of course, but, it does help with w/d's to do any type of taper. The slower the taper I think will make it a little easier. Although, in my experience, I had w/d's during my taper, so be prepared to feel not quite so great when your dose is signicantly reduced... Good Luck!
