I have had amazing luck with L-theanine and 5htp,you can get them at any GNC stores or wal-mart,they have saved my life!you can take them during the day as they will not cause you to become drowsey but will calm you very nicely and even you out. congrats on bein clean it's great ain't it?

valerian is a good choice for daytime use..in smaller doses than for sleep..melatonin is hard to use for anxiety during the day...calme forte is a good one for me and i got it at Walmart! real green chinese teas/full of theanine to relax is wonderful..1/4 of a phenegan is often used for anxiety...some ADs like elavil and trazodone help this as well..exercise is my best stress reducer...google on stress reducers -- herbals non habit forming medications...find the peace within ur self as well
yeah, right, valerian root did a great work with my anxiety and my sleep for the first two months . Now i'm taking it once in a while for sleeping as i don't feel i need it as much, but you can give it a try , betterdays, good luck :)
hi!! I know that Valerian root works well for some, kava kava, ummm.. can't think of the others but I'm sure someone else will post. The Ativan may not be helping you too much since it is a short acting benzo. I was prescribed Xanax for almost a year and it didn't help too much with my anxiety, maybe for an hour or so after I took it. They switched me to Klonopin, longer acting and I've had ZERO anxiety/panic problems since. I'm not recommending this, unless you do have a long term anxiety disorder. As Klonopin is also a highly addictive drug, however in my personal experience it works great! I've had no desire to ever take more than prescribed, it leveled me out very nicely. best wishes and congrats on getting clean!!! :)
