Any thoughts on Bupropion?

finally got into a very well respected psych. doc. and he put me on this.  He said that it affects the dopemine in my brain somewhat like the vics did but without the obvious high.  He seemed almost excited about my overall mental condition and the prospect of what this drug will do for my overall well being.  Thoughts?

I think Bupropion is Wellbutrin, an anti-depressant.  I'm not really sure about it having the same effect as vicodin, but it could help if you're feeling depressed.  I took wellbutrin as a teenager along with zoloft, and it worked well for me back then.  I don't know much else about it other than that and I don't know your situation, but I hope it works for you!

Are you sure its not  Buprenorphine   .I have never heard of using wellbutrin for drug addiction unless you are suffering from addiction.

I dont really know much about wellbutrin but i will tell u that before I got off the vicoden my dr put me on cymbalta and its been great for me and is supposed to work well for pain too. Wellbutrin is supposed to help with smoking addiction though
