Anyone need help detoxing from Tramadol..... I figured out a way that worked..... FINALLY

I had a 1200-1500/mg a day tramadol habit. I was taking it for 2.5 years! I am 30 y/o now. I started weaning myself off of this drug. I tried cold turkey and really had thoughts of suicide .... so I consulted friends of mine who are pharmacists and they suggested a weaning as the ONLY way yo safely do it, since a detox center would not take me. I was actually laughed at, saying it is not a drug you need to detox from. REALLY???? Well, I know it is real. I know it is hard, I am now 7 days from my wean.... meaning I have not taking an tramadols in a week. A WEEK! I am living proof that you can do this.

If anyone is interested in my wean schedule, let me know and I will post it.

GOD BLESS

Detox centers wouldn't take me. They thought it was a joke that I was 'addicted' to tramadol. As you know this is NO JOKE. I know EXACTLY how you are feeling right now. I really went through this by help from my friend who is a pharmacist. He helped put me on a good plan to wean off. I really want to help you so here is what I did:

First I told my closest family/friends. This was the hardest part, to come clean about what I was doing. I was on average taking 12-18 50 mg pills a day. I was taking so much I was starting to have panic attacks that I would have a seizure.

The wean of plan was taking 600 mgs a day for 3 days. Then weaning off 50 mgs every 3 days. I would spread my doses out throughout the day.

Day 1-3      600 mgs
Day 4-6      550 mgs
Day 7-9      500 mgs
Day 10-12   450 mgs
Day 13-15   400 mgs
Day 16-18   350 mgs
Day 19-21   300 mgs
Day 22-24   250 mgs
Day 25-27   200 mgs
Day 28-30   150 mgs
Day 31-33   100 mgs
Day 34-36    50 mgs
Day 37-39    25 mgs

You are the ONLY one who can do this. If you are not 100% ready for this, then you might as well not even bother starting. Be in a good mind frame. This is NOT going to be easy, this is going to suck actually. But you CAN do it. Every morning when you get out of bed, even on the nights you don't sleep, wake up and say I am 1 day closer to sobriety.

I have been in the tramadol nightmare for a year and a half now.  I have tried making wean off schedules off and on for a while now but was never able to stick with it.  I am ready and want off this stuff.  It is causing some serious side effects like I feel like Im in  fog, feel run down all the time, just bad.  I am thankful I found this wean off schedule, I am going to try it and pray to God I can stick it out.  I truly want to be free of this nightmare.  I feel some hope that mabey, just mabey, this time I will suceed.

its amazing that anyone would dismiss tramadol addiction...and those were HUGE doses you were taking. the terrible thing about tramadol is that its not a controlled substance in most states. because of this, you can easily get it with no problems. more importantly, doctors, nurses, and pharmacists alike dismiss it as not addicting because it isn't controlled. all they need to do is take one visit to a forum like this to learn otherwise. you don't have to search very far to find many people here who've had experiences with this drug.

anyway...its terrible that they didn't take you seriously...but i'm glad you found a way to get clean.
