Anyone see exercise helps??

I guess what they say is true exercise really helps w/ the physical and mental cravings. I was kinda hoping it was`nt true cuz I`m a loaf but since i started working out and lifting I truly feel better. Anyone else have the same experience?

Hey Man I`m doing some of the same things, you are absolutley rite I see myself feel "not rite" if I miss a scheduled work out. You are seriousley pounding the cal`s. I`m thinking of losing 15 lb`s but the cardio is awful!!!! and that`s a fact!!  The lifting is getting pretty good though  6-1 200lbs but just lifting the last couple months has improved me .

xercise is very important, it get everthing in your body going, and you cannot seperate your body and mind there one and the same and any kind of work out even mowing the lawn cleans you whole body soul and spirit. I do my best thinking behind a push mower!!!

Exercise is key for many reasons and detox is just one of them :-).  I see you're 41 so all the sins of your 20s and 30s should start catching up with you now.  I've been back in the gym straight for 15 months working cardio, strength and serious stretching; diet is good but I'm consuming almost 4500 calories a day gaining some wicked size now...5'10" at 245lbs @ 18% bodyfat...you can say I became almost OBC with exercise and diet but this was a major factor getting away from the meds and I think it still is today...15+ months later.

I have noticed since I have been back to work fulltime again and walking the golf course my energy level has gone way up and i feel so good, but tonight I am exausted, a little too much exercise today, gonna sleep like a baby, lol. Even taking a short walk can help if your feeling down, like mentioned above, exercise releases endorphins.

I could not believe how out of shape i had become cuz it was so easy to just sit around veg when i was messing w/ pills and it does`nt take long either. Those pills sure do invade every part of our lives.

I spent everyday of my wd walking then when stronger walked the dogs everyday.. I did this for a least 6 weeks.. I can say compared to detoxing and laying around waiting to feel better.. exercise helped more then anything hands down.. Physically my body craved it.. mentally my mind was more focused and gave a wonderful opportunity to sort out my thoughts and feelings.. I recommend anybody going through detox get Outside.. move breath.. it makes all the difference.. set's up healthy behavior gets your appetite stimulated.. it can bring much needed balance.. lesa

haha. if you have read my posts before man i have been through hell several times with several diffrent t-shirts. i found the way to do it and what upsets me is people just ignore the possiblities of defeating addiction. after 6 1/2 years of oxy's 80 mgs 9 times a day and 15 percs and vics on top of that people dont believe its possible. its like you have to treat your body like its 90 years old no affense to others but you have to put those vitamens and minerals back in, im not kidding im clean for 2 years and i have never felt better in my life. eat right woooooooooooo that body will be unstoppable

Exercise is STILL helping me.. I just journaled about this and said how if I were to open a rehab center I would most definitely make exercise a mandatory part of recovery.  Especially for the mental stuff and depression.. I started kickboxing a month ago and it has helped my mood and depression tremendously...its a natural high..

Isn't it amazing how some excercise will make you feel so much better. I know I had to make myself at the beginning. I would walk alittle down the street and back. Everyday I did alittle bit more. It really does help with the depression. Then when you start loosing weight and looking better, you feel even better. To anyone at the beginning stages of detox (maybe not day 1-4 but after), try to do alittle walking it really does help (even if you have to force yourself). It will be worth the effort.
God Bless
