Anyone take Vicodin before Childbirth?

I am about to deliver. I have been prescribed vicodin by my obgyn. I WAS taking about 40mg a day,but have tapered down to about 15mg. Ive been advised not to go cold turkey, although at this low of a dose I dont totally understand why.
What I would like to know, is if anyone has experience taking vicodin up until they delivered, and if so, how much were you taking per day and did the baby have withdrawals?

You have to talk with your doctor about these questions. Congrats on your tapering.  It is great you are doing something about this for you and your baby........sara

Hon these are questions you really need to ask your doctor.Although others may share their experiences with you,no one knows whats best for the safety and well being of you and your baby better then your doctor.If you don't understand about the tapering or the chances of your baby experiencing w/ds after delivery,ask questions,make your doctor explain it to you.This is your baby and you have the right to be totally informed.Congratulations and all the best...Kim
