Hi Hippee,

Celebrex is one of the meds that I can't take because of what it does to my stomach!

I take Celebrex, have also used Indocin, Voltaren, Daypro.. etc.
Celebrex and Vioxx are probably the least damaging to your GI.

When I was on the non-Cox2 (Voltaren) I also took a drug called Cytotec which helped my stomach, but it did cause GI discomfort.

Enbrel is a good suggestion, also another drug like that is called Remicade.  Its taken by infussion, and once on it you only need it 1x every 8 weeks or so.  The FDA just approved it for treating arthritis so most insurance companies will now cover it.

Arthritis is different for everyone as is the treatments.  A rhuematologist is the best person to tt about trying different things.  It took me 3 years to get the best combination, then after a while your auto ammune (immune) system figures it out and you need to switch to something else.

I know the pain and understand.  Take care - Nod

Hey you! Just popped on and saw ya on so I had to see what was up! Has your doc tried you on Enbrel? Its a shot you give yourself once a week. It worked great for me. (When I had insurance of course!). It's expensive, but I only had to pay 10.00 co-pay for it when the insurance was active. Boy, that stuff is great. But without insurance it would have been 1,100.00$.. Too much for me!!!!
See you soon !

Yes Sharon i agree with Hippee, I heard BExtra ( fairly new on the market) is very effective time released action.  It is only approved for arthritus use.

How are you feeling?  Anything new, different, better or worse with the Subutex/feelings of w/d, etc.?

I hope it is working well.  Is it working well for pain too do you know?

Thanks.  I hope all is well.

Michael,
A while back I asked if we could talk, see I hit bottom, maybe lower than that.  But, been a little better lately.  I just seem to connect with you and thought talking(emailing) would help.  Right now I'm on the "mend" so to speak, and doing better but if things turn the other way, still would like to take you up on that.  Talk to you later, Nod

if your im one of the states that allows it, you can apply for medicinal marijuana :) you can go to www.norml.org to see if your state has a medicinal marijuana program. Marijuana has been proven to be an effective alternative to those who are more perceptive to some of the harsher side effects of stronger drugs. Contrary to popular belief, the side effects from mild marijuana usage are rather low.

Hey guys, thanks for checking in.  I have been on a rollercoaster ride lately.  About this time last year I made it clean for 6 months and it was so nice. Just want to get back to that but really struggling to make it.  Between work and some issues at home (my 2yr old showing signs of autism and we are going thru evaluations now) just hard to stay focused on the "end."   Anyway, thanks for caring so much.  This board got me clean before and sure as hell will do it again.  Take care, Nod
