when i was on 80 mg they woulda started me out with 12 mg had i optioned to go that route as i asked around being in the medical profession...i didnt say i was asking for me cos of privac7y reasons...i already knew 2 mg would control my wd...so not saying they wont prescribe u that much as they over-prescribe...just that u may not have needed that much..who knows and everyone is different...sub can be like methadone and until u completely quit/go to nil and then wait a day or so/..u dont know how bad the wds will be

Hey, I used to take 8 lortab 7.5s per day on average and when I decided to quit, the dr. put me on 8mg of suboxone to start.  That does not sound unusual to me at all!  I thought the 8mg was way to much for me actually, and cut the dosage in half by day 3.  I took 4mg for about a month and then went down to 3mg for a month and so on.  Right now I'm on 0.5mg of suboxone a day.  I should be completely off within the next month.  Feel free to message me if you have any questions!

Good Luck!

oh....but doctors prescribe much higher doses than what is usually needed....my girlfriend had a 140 mg oxy habit and they put her on 24 mg of sub...she got sick and it took like 3 days to get out of her system..it was just way too much for her...u gotta educate urself on what ur body needs as everyone is different...do know what u r doing as some leap into a pit deeper than the one they were in

Buprenex.....1 mg (suboxone, subutex)
Morphine....30-40 mgs PO/ 10 mg IV
Dilaudid........7.5 mg
Opana/Oxymorphone........10  mg
Oxycodone....20 mg
Hydrocodone…30 mg
Codeine.........200 mg
Methadone..….15 - 20 mg
Demerol...........300 mg
Darvacet...........200 mg
just an approximation as everyone metabolizes drugs differently...8 mg would cover or equal approximately 210 mg hydro habit a day, 160 mg oxycodone habit, or 100 mg a day methadone habit....most who r educated on sub use a bitless than what they actually need to feel perfectly fine if they plan on tapering off quickly and not getting addicted..i used sub when i ran out of pills in the past..i was an 80- mg/average /a day hydro user...1-2 mg kept me out of wds...less is more with that drug as it is very powerful

I was taking 140 mg of Oxy a day so I started on 2 mg - then began to taper until day 20 then only took a crumb -- thought I would miss the W/D's but was I every wrong -- suffered horribly for almost two months.   Dosing Sub is tricky -- It is my opinion that everyone is different and needs to allow your own body to determine its need for the Sub --- You do this by taking 2 mg and then waiting 30 minutes --- (assuming you are in mild withdrawals) then if that is not enough you take 1 mg and repeat the process.  The idea is to use as little as possible and start tapering immediately -- if you don't the sub will grab you harder than your DOC ---  It is total he11 to come off of Sub.  Wish you all the best.

that totally depends on the the person, the size of the habit, the amt of the habit...
