Back from the doctor-vic c/t w/d

Well I just got back from the doctor. I couldn't bring myself to come clean so I went the route of anxiety attacks. He gave me fifteen 5mg Xanax and said to take 1/2 a pill twice a day. My question is, should I take it in the morning and at night or only when the anxiety gets too much to deal with. Also, will Xanax help me get some sleep?

I'm at day 1 of c/t but have been drastically tapering off since Monday.

Thanks!

I think it crazy where I live I know I need a benzo and these docs all where I live look at you like your just drug seeking.. I am scared of what I Think is just people in General, like in any giving situation with another person I get adrenaline rush of fear that would drive a normal person nuts. I have anxiety attacks at least 2 times a day bad enough to where it has me questioning myself weather or not to go to the hospital and get checked for a heart attack and there has been this few Times 5-7 years back that I did go to the ER and do the EKG just to be smirked at and told I have a heart of a 20 year old.. I mean it ***** to live like this and if that's not grounds for a Dailey benzo then Idk what is. It doesn't take a bored certified doc to see that I have savear paranoia panic attacks and extreme anxiety. Like now it's almost morning and I'm still awake because thinking just keeps me up.. Now befor you reply take note... I have been on Sebastian, sequel, visitation, husband and not all at once but switched around from med to med and nothing fixes my problems.. Please tell me a benzo wouldn't straighten my anxiety and panic of everyday situations right out?? Idk what to do but I wish I had me a doc that I had the balls to talk to like I type..

Only use the xanax when you ABSOLUTELY have to. It is very addictive and can be deadly if ct'd. Believe me, I understand the panic attacks and everything else that goes with ct'ing from the vics. Try everything else in your arsenal before resorting to the benzos.
Good luck and stay strong.
You can do this. It will be fine. Don't worry...

Yeah, it is definitely Flu season!

Bunker down and grin and bear it. By Sunday eve. you should start to feel better. If not it must have been that 4 day Flu variety.

Thank you for the support and opinions. I will definately use the Xanax carefully and only when needed. I have cancelled all my plans for the weekend and have started complaining to family that I feel like I'm coming down with the flu. I just have to get through work tomorrow and then tackle the task of c/t this weekend. I can't ever remember dreading a weekend! LOL. I called my connection and told them to hang up on me if I called. I really want to be clean but the other 1/2 of my brain wants to keep using and feel good. Feeling this way really sux but as everyone here has said, it will pass.

Thank you so much everything. This forum is a lifesaver.
Good luck to everyone and stay strong.

I used Xanax (1/2) along with flexiril. I slept great. I can't tell you what to do, but if it were me. I would take them when anxiety hits. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can answer. Remember that Xanax is also addictive!       Good luck on the C/T!!!!!!

This is what I don't like, doctors giving you another addictive drug to help with another. Xanax is very addictive. Please be careful with it. Yes, xanax will help you sleep, but there are better things out there.

I think you should go see a new doctor that doesn't know you and come clean.

Just a suggestion. Good luck with whatever choice you make.
