I promise you that at least SOME of the pain you are experiencing is due to the withdrawls you are experiencing. The pain gets much better over time. I won't promise you that some of that pain is due to the fact that you are off pain killers, but half or all of it is because of withdrawl. Try to move around and stretch as much as you can. It helps tremendously. I know that you don't feel like moving much right now, but it's one of the main things causing the aches and pains. Good luck and God Bless.

do u still have them in ur house?
Man, scar tissue on the nerve is EXACTLY what I have... I went through 4 nerve blocks (epidural with camera that injects steroids that EAT the scar tissue!) I have DDD and my L5-S1 are basically on top of each other (had 2 surgeries at that level) and a ruptured L4-L3, which is the groin pain... it hurts today too, but like trouble said, we need to produce our own pain killers in our brain.
If you have insurance, you should be covered. My pain management doctor is awesome for trying all options besides just writing scripts!
Look into it, and it will help. I was actually pain free for most of Jan, but then ran a 5K and have been in major pain since running... and got reamed by my doc for it.
Good Luck and hopefully sweet dreams!
I'm not sure about the nerve thing. Haven't heard about it. I have scar tissue around a nerve from surgery. Also have bad joint. I took motrin and it felt a little better. I'll also try the heat. I worked out this morning listening to the advice. I hadn't done that in quite some time so maybe that's what's doing it. Man how I wanted to just take one and it ***** that I didn't want to get high I just wanted to get rid of the pain. But I know that'll lead to loving that high again. I'm staying strong. Was really figity today too. Not looking forward to sleep. Thanks guys
oh yes the horrid back pain- that is what drove me back to relapse many times as I couldnt stand the pain! Right now, your brain is SCREAMING out and is PISSSED off that it cant get its meds so its sending out tons of signals to you, doing anything it can to make you cave in and take another pill! Trust me it will get better, and no, this likely is not going to be your true pain level off of pills. THe pain is extremely intensified at first during WD. And your brain has to finally start making its own natural pain relievers again! Your brain has gotten LAZY from being on the opiates so long and it stopped making its own pain killers long ago. So you have to endure some helll for a fwe days before things start to get back to normal. Dont give in now, you will just have to start all over again! It will get better, just hang in there =)
Does it help to know that I have had a lot of back pain this week, lol. I have heard that sometimes pain is intensified after you first quit pills so I say suck it up man and enjoy the pain, haha. Serious though, you know as an addicts taking one can do a lot of damage and quickly bring us back so I suggest taking motrin and a heating pad like I am, but then again, i don't know how bad yours is and what else would help you, just don't want to see ya fall back. Hang in there.
Right there with you.... Fire down the leg, groin feels like I have a midget kicking my naughty bits all day long, but this is how I always feel because of my back...... dang.
I just want my life back without pills.... that is all, the pain reminds me I am alive and still fighting... If you take one, you know where you will be in a few days...
Got a nerve block scheduled for the 13th... that will be my 15 day mark off these things, and I pray for lasting relief, but I will at least be numb in the back for 4 hours after... ;) Does anything like that help you?
