After 3 more surgeries I am back again..the pain is gone so its time to come off of the vicodin again. I did it twice before but this time seems so much harder. I guess because I was using so much more this last time. I had got up to 14-16 7.5 tabs before I had my last surgery. I did it cold turkey last time; I cant seem to do it that way this time. I hate tapering because I am only dragging out the inevitable. I cut myself down to 8 tabs a day now. and I'm still miserable. I think I should just go for it and go cold turkey. I have taken 2 tabs so far today and considering not taking anything else today and dumping my pills. Somebody tell me I can do it.
You can do it !!!!!!! tapaering is not easy ..... So if you want to cold turkey then do it !!!!!! We will be here to help all we can.

Remember your pain might get worse during detox. Just knowing that helped me get through and my pain started to ease on day 5. Just keep telling yourself that things will get better (after day 3 usually) Your in my thoughts.
Thank you so much. I just needed to hear it. I definetly have decided to do the c/t. The tapering and the agony that comes with it, I, personally cant deal with. I am sick anyway...may as well get it out of the way all together. Thanks again; and you will be seeing alot of me.
YOU CAN DO IT !!!!!! YOU KNOW YOU CAN !!!!! As you well know it's not gonna be any fun detoxing. Oh but wonderful day 5 clean and feeling better. Your sense of humor starts coming back, you start laughing again. The stress of wondering if you have enough pills is gone. You start to hold your head up and are proud of what you are doing. Then you go outside and the air even smells better. You start feeling optomistic that you will have a life and not die because of pain pills. Then you start planning some things for your future.
