I sent a copy to my english professor her comment was if this was a stranger writing it she thought it was good but because I wrote it and I had her for two semesters it scard the hell out of her because she remembered me standing in the back of class alot because my back was frigging screaming. She remembered me coming to class with a heplock in my arm.
She wants me to mail her each chapter when I complete them to edit for me. She has three books published and told me she would make sure it gets read.

Beach...my dream...writing a book.  That is really exciting and especially when you have some connections to give you honest and critical feedback.  Amazing.  I wish i were you.  Maybe someday it will happen...I sure gotta a lot of **** to write about.  If I didn't know it was all for real, I wouldn't believe it.  Movie deal, no doubt.   Ha.  Glad you are on today.

Peace~

The Search for Truth

Introduction

Meeting the Devil

Addicts are loathed and ostracized by most, they are thought of as a social stigma that walks the earth. Some people may have pity or compassion, where a very small minority of people may truly believe that addiction is a disease. Addicts live in the insanity amongst demons and a calling only heard by the addict. Sometimes considered psychotic but no anti psychotic medicine can stop the voice telling the addict to get high you will feel better, go get some heroin your pain will all go away or a prescription of heavy narcotic pain pills to get rid of the loneliness or depression while drowning in self pity. Another voice will tell you to go and steal money if you don’t have it, there your parents they will understand. The voice may say go into the department store and steal a CD player then take it back into the same store for a refund moments after. The voice may say steal it out of your wife’s purse she probably won’t notice. The voice will always say don’t worry about getting caught or loosing everything even though your conscience will tell you its wrong, you can always fix it later. Addicts are great Actors and will tell a thousand lies to get what they want because they have to! Most people including family members, friends, policeman, and Judges all think and believe the Addict is a choice and so are their decisions they make but I am here to tell you you’re wrong. The insane mind of an addict is a very scary place! It is a place where monsters are alive and breathe fire, it is a place where Satan himself dwells in all his glory.

OMG..I did read that when it was posted, I just didn't connect it to you...(no offense just so many posts...hard to keep track of) and you said it ALL in a nutshell...that is so true and so perfectly worded about how it does feel and how we are looked at.  Let us know when your published... would love to read more!

Yes, I am writing. I kept a journal at my second rehab which was a six month intense inpatient rehab.

It will be labeled fiction to protect me from certain things.

I'll mix truth with insanity and use fictional names but the story is close to my heart. I wish I could do an auto-Biography but I am afraid I'll go to prison for a 100 years.

Ya I know what you mean about putting all of "THAT" truth down on paper.  Fictional...the way to go.  But it sounds like your life has had some drama that may go over the fictional line anyway.  Some of us have lived through some pretty ****** up drama.  WE NEED TO SHARE THAT, obviously...look at all of us here.  Keep it real.  Thanks for posting today you made my morning as well.  Sometimes I don't talk...just read.  This place is home to me.

Peace~

Ahhh she speaks.....lol
I had previously mailed four complete chapters and my professor mailed them back and said she wanted to read me my rights. She told me of a few cases were people were arrested and Prosecuted.
Its funny a guy not that long ago wrote a book called
A Million Little Pieces by James Frey.
My sister just sent me a copy but I guess what happen was he wrote this as a true story. Oprah had him on her show and sold the book from her book club. Turns out it was all fiction and Oprah pulled the book and the publisher even recalled the book.
I am currently in communication with the principle of my old highschool to talk to the students in an open Forum in the gym. She is making sure of legal radifications before she says ok but likes the idea.
Drugs are a problem everywhere and its in the schools.
I am a graduate and I hope I get the opportunity.

Glad your still here

Creek, there is no need for me to add fiction or to try to glamourize anything. I layed in bed with the devil himself a few times the truth is scary enough.
Now I am in a Dilemma on what or how to write. I have asked my professor for help with that.
Drama, yes tons a lot of bad too that I am not proud of.

by creek, Feb 20, 2007 12:00AM
To: funny about that book
My friend gave me a copy because I had heard all the acolades etc.   Oprahs club etc.   I knew the first chapter he was full of bullshit. I love to read, but I knew this was not ringing true and I put it down.  Never finished it and then in a few months all the drama about it. Kinda proud that I felt he was a fake way before the hubaloo.  Atleast I know about some stuff...not the greatest stuff to know about, but I knew he was full of ****.

Just be true to yourself and PROTECT yourself for sure.  How does that work? can we really get oursevles (OR OTHERS who we would incriminate) by writing words on paper???  like you are saying someone will come after you ...the law...years later?

My sister just mailed me a copy of A Million Pieces by James Frey I haven't read it yet. I have it here in front of me I'll give a few chapters a chance and see for myself but I agree it is hard for one addict to lie to another,,,,,,,,,,they know...
