Been taking lortab..

Been taking lortab..

Okay, so I'm 21 years old. Normal guy, I'm in college. Work at a gym. I feel like I became addicted to lortabs almost a year ago. I'm in the Army National Guard in the state of Louisiana. Last year during Hurricane Gustav I bulged a disk in my back, and that put me in extreme pain. So I went to the doctor and he prescribed me lortabs. Well I'm not gonna lie, I became addicted. I quit off and on, and about two months ago I started taking them everyday. Usually 6-10 in one day ( I know that's horrible, that's why I'm quitting) I recently landed a new job and I have to get a drug test sometime this week. I have a prescription from April, probably won't help any. But I got the job Friday, and the last time I used was Thursday. Today's Monday and I wanted to know how long it's gonna take to get out of my system if I've been using for two months. I've been drinking tons and tons of water. And another thing is that I've heard that hydrocodone addiction and withdrawal is like going through Hell, but I've been off for 4 days and it hasn't bothered me at all. I mean, yeah I wanted to get some. But that's it, nothing's really changed. My girlfriend and I had a great weekend (who doesn't know that I've been using them).  I don't know what to really make of this. Any input would be great!

Unfortunately noone on here can tell you if/how ur going to pass your drug test! I would suggest looking up your doc and look what it says for a half life? Also you stated you have a script so legally you can have them in your system! I would just be honest w/ the employer!

I mean I'm kinda worried about the drug test, but really though quitting is the most important thing to me. I mean my life hasn't gone to hell or anything. I'm functioning fine. Going to college in hopesof being a journalist. The reason I wanted to talk is because I don't want to go as far as being addicted and get so deep where I can't get out. But I figured two months of consistent use would have me addicted and give me withdrawals by now

Just be really super thankful that you aren't going through withdrawals! Really. Seriously. :)

I am not sure about the test either. But being that you did not go through withdrawels is great!! Please never take them again if you can help it. Because if you get on them again it may be a lot worse. I know they make you feel great for a while and then its nothing but down hill. I wished I would have never started. Right now I depend on them to function and it *****.... Good Luck!

yup, best you just KEEP off them or one day you will really find out what hydro wd's are like !!

stay off them, obviously.have your script with you and just let them know that you have a bulging disc(hopefully they wont consider that as a reason to not hire you) and act dumb about it.............say the only time you take them is when absolutely neccessary for the pain, say, thats why Is still have this, I rarely use them.

I can say that some place wont hire people with back injuries, it happened to me when I was young like you( was not taking pills then). got hired on the spot, then they said go take a physical, then it dawned on me the doc would see the all the scars on my back, told them about my back injury.......they then told me, we cant hire you because you are a risk.

so watch what you say....

I cant guarantee thsi, but I seem to remember opioids and opiates out of the system after 4-7 days. perhaps some one else knows for sure.

Thanks everyone for your help! It really feels good that I can talk to people on here and not be judged because I don't have many people that I can really talk about it with. I took the drug test today, and hopefully everything goes okay. And if anything shows up, I'll tell them that I have the script and I have to take them when I'm in pain. But I'm glad that this job opportunity came up because I would probably never be motivated to really quit. And I know I need to. Because I'm still young and have I have a lot of dreams and ambitions just like most young people do, and I don't want drugs to get in the way of that. I'm still not having any withdrawal symptoms, besides the craving which I knew I was going to have. But I'm praying that everything goes well. I'm just glad that it hasn't thrown my life so off track where I can't function in school or work without them. Thanks again everyone for your words of motivation. It means alot to me. God bless all of you, and I hope everyone elses struggles go well and if anyone needs to talk about their struggles I'm here to talk.
