Belated Veterans Day

Belated Veterans Day

Been busy in hospital for a few days ----   Was very excited to see that we recognized all veterans that will admit it -----
I am a Viet vet myself --- and I know a lot of other vets. The common feeling is great appreciation for someone recpognizing their service.

But several (and I was one) voiced the opinion that we were called to duty to do a job that not many of us liked. So we did it as best as possible. And some never returned to their girls, cars, and dreams. These troops that made the supreme sacrifice are the heroes.... They were honored once with a  military ceremony that begins with a company formation....and then you march into the memorial and see an M-16 en bayonet stuffed in two sandbags, dog tags dangling from the chraging handle of weapon, empty headcover at top and two empty combat boots facing forward at the bottom - - - - - - - Say your prayers for these families and the ones they loved and then lost...............

I served on an Aircraft carrier for 4 years, and have great respect for all military vets. Peacetime or Wartime.           Zeuss
