I started with 8,7,6,5 for three days each, then 4&3 for 4 days each, then 1&2 for a week each. Someone said that that sounded good. I have some clonidine and xanax from the last time. Believe it or not I got the clonidine after I went thru all the rough stuff. I went to the Doc and told him I didn't like taking all this stuff and he gave me Rx for it. But I was at 3 weeks by then! LOL
What were you taking them for before?

it sounds to me, and this is just my humble opinion, that there has to be something that they are not catching... just a gut feeling here... i am not a doctor but i am an LMT and have worked in a medical capacity most of my life...
i also remember how long it took for the doctors to find out what was causing my back pain 11 years ago... and for a while, as everything came out negative, i thought i was making it up in my head to get pain meds... i actually doubted myself...
i hope they keep searching for what is causing her this problem... and what the doc here said about the premarin and neurontin and all is a good start...
i hope you get some support for yourself also!!!

I am thankful for any help..
The doc then put me on oxys for a month then switched me to morphine 15mg. 4xdaily. I had surgury and 2 weeks later went c/t for 8 bad days. On the 9th day I took 1 morphine pill. Have take one aday for the last 2 months. Since I can't break the morphine pill, I was wondering (since I have a bottle of hyrocodone 5mg) how much hydro's should I start tappering with..I want off the meds..I'm moving out of state and need all my energy.. If anyone could help, I would be so thankful..

That should help you in finding the information you need to taper and get off the meds.
I am trying to figuire which is worse tapering or CT. Looking at the pills calling my name - very loudly - or suffering WDs. I remember how bad they were last time. There is a brand new RX on my counter, the amount that I need to taper, but I wonder if I have enough will power to stick to it.
I just want to feel normal and that is really hard because I really don't know what normal is anymore.
I wish you luck!
A complete liver panel might not hurt, either. Best of luck,
Milo
My mom always asks if I can't manage the pain now what will I do in 10 yrs.
Help!
day 2 so far so good on sticking to just 8! I think the tough part is to come!
If you hop over to "Drugabuse.Com" and go under the support section you will see our lengthy thread called "fioricet addiction" it is very long and there are a whole bunch of us who are and have been addicted to this nasty drug. It also is very difficult to withdraw from and at high doses you can suffer seizures from the withdrawal.
I have been addicted to fioricet for over 20 years and I now use Imitrex injections for my migraines. There are several new drugs out now for treatment of migraines that are non-addictive. You may want to ask your doctor about them.
I hope this info. is helpful to you, believe me I regret the day I took my first fioricet because it led me down a very bad road to addiction. I was 26 at the time and here I am at 45 still struggling with this stuff.
Good luck with your tapering and I truly hope you are able to find some relief from you pain.
Take Care
