Body not tolerating methadone w/d

I've been on methadone consistantly since i was 16, i'm 21 now. I've "succesfully" <- Ha, detoxed once before, but i had no choice. I was in jail for 90 days and couldn't do a single thing to help myself. The methadone clinic i was in for 4 yrs kicked me out after i got out of jail and came back for 2 months, Because i was givin a prescription for methadone (5 whole pills, woope) and i filled it, and they found out (I don't know how), So I had to sit and talk with the clinic manager and a guy from the DEA one day, the DEA guy gave me a 3 month probation period, meaning if i did it again i'd be up **** creek and NO methadone clinic in the world would take me. But a few days later the clinic manager said i wasn't to be dosed there anymore. Anyway,  the nausea is unbearable, i do not sleep, i can hardly stand on my own 2 feet, etc. advice?

HI wow they kicked you off the program at 210ml?? thats friggin insain....even if you screw up in arazona they will do a quick but painful detox on ya...well I guess we go from here
first off this is going to be pritty ruff once the 210ml runs out of your system you may need to be hospitalized to detox off that amount this is nothing to mess with at that high of dose
if your forced to do this yourself seek a doctors supervision ...if thats impossible then we will do what we can to try and help you...but first check to see if you can get a dr involved
your probably going to need one....I will check back in the morning to see what you plan on doing....Good luck and God bless.....Gnarly

I gotta take my hat off to you. Whoever got you up to 230 mg otta be shot. If I understand your situation you can't get any methadone.and they kicked you off on 210 mg? If that's true, you're in it now, so take charge of IT. Stop taking, I MEAN STOP TAKING ANY Drugs anti-nausea included. They only do harm. They are no help to a body in the throes of W/D. Make your mind up that your going to bite the bullet and just get it over with.
Now is your time. How I wish I went thru my first attempt 30 years ago. The stuff kills you emotionally. And if you care about how you look (who doesn't?) if you keep on with opiates of any kind your have no teeth left and the few you do have will be brown and gross. I'm sure you must of noticed the old timers at your clinic. IN my 27 yrs. we watched each other loose our teeth year after year.
So as I've said NOW IS YOUR TIME. Take it, please. You are half way to the Promised Land. And don't worry about the sleep and energy thing. After the horror of stopping at 210, that's a walk in the park. I'm on day 27, can't sleep and can't move about (doin' nothing) for more than a hour without collapsing for four hours. But I feel I've beat it. The sleep and energy will return at their own pace You're young, it will be sooner than later. I promise you.

I was on 230mg, Then had an EKG which showed "qt intervals" or something, got taken down to 210mg, and repeated the ekg - which was normal. 10 days? I wish. When i was in jail for 90 days i had w/d's the WHOLE time, not one day went by where i slept, my legs didn't kick, etc. they had to keep sending me to the hospital because i literallly could not keep any food or water, or anything down. My potassium kept bottoming (obv from throwing up so much) i'd take the potassium pills, 2 min later they'd be in a bucket. I can't stand the nasuea and absolutely nothing helps it. I can not have compazine (allergic), and one other anti-nausea med (i can't remember the name off hand, but if meantioned i'll remember it) and reglan and phenergan don't help :/ anyone know of any other nasuea meds, or meds that have helped you with it?

I was on 100 mg for last 5 yrs. of a 27 yr. run. Methadone 24/7/365 days a yr. Please go to my post on 5/15, I laid out what helped me. Today is day 27, but it might as well be day 2700. If you're not mentally ready it's a shock. But you've got a young, strong body. I'm an old fart of sixty and If I can get thru the hell of the first 7 or 8 days it should be a breeze for you. Just remember the stuff is in your system for three days. During that time it's just your mind messing w/you. Then for the next 4 or 5 days it's your body's turn. After day 10 at the latest,  you pass the rough stuff. From then on, it's the energy thing and the not sleeping (still in full force w/me) but take it from me, that's nothing compared to that first week. AND that stuff just works itself out in time, which for you should be rather quick(considering your age) for you. (A lot longer for me because of the 27 yr. run.) It's your will that is in charge. Use it to your advantage. Read my 5/15 post!

I don't think it should be stopped suddenly. what they did to me was crap. I called my old dr who prescribed me methadone before i was in a clinic (my mom sees this dr now) and he, well the front desk; said i can't be seen there. i called the other 3 methadone clinics in the area with the SAME answer. i don't get it, SOME one is telling these people not to take me as a pt. It certainly isn't me.

I've been to the er 2 times, all they do is give me some nausea meds and send me out the door. maybe it would work better if i had insurance.

I'm sorry this has happened to you.  I didn't think you could stop methadone abruptly.  I thought it needed to be tapered.  I have no experience with it but someone with knowledge will be along to help.

Hang in there.  If it gets too tough you may want to go to the emergency room or your general practitioner and explain what's going on.

Keep posting to let us know how you are.

Rue.
