C/T from Xodol for almost a week

I've been lurking around here since I went C/T last week (not much on the taper thing ... if you give me a bunch of pills to last for a taper, I would probably take them all regularly instead of going down) - it has been a BIG help knowing that I have pretty much the same w/d symptoms as most. I've been on vicodin for about 5 years for nerve pain in my hip and was currently taking 5-6 Xodols (10/300) a day (mostly in the evening after work). Finally got sick of how it was running my life and how I was being controlled by the hydro (the pain isn't that bad anymore - just couldn't stop taking the pills) .... had my last xodol last Wednesday night - had no pills Thursday but before bed I took 3 50mg ultram and an Ambien ... got decent sleep but could tell I was missing the vicodin feel. Decided (with my wife) to go completely C/T starting Thursday - haven't had ANYTHING since (5 days). The first 48 hours totally sucked - diahrea, restless, toss and turn in bed, not much of an appetite, NO nausea though. My wife really helped out ... ate a little both days but not much. Drank a lot of water and gatorade. Hot baths at night helped but ZERO sleep. The next 24 hours got a bit better; eating better and more, diahrea gone but lots of gas - walked around the neighborhood 4 times. Yesterday and today the daytime isn't too bad, eating good, no diarhea (diarrhea), but I get basically zero sleep at night. Today was the first day that I was actually able to sleep 15-20 minutes straight ... thought maybe I was almost out of the woods. Just tried to go to bed and it lasted about 20 minutes, then restless again.

When will I ever sleep good again!!!???

Thanks for all of the words of advice I have read ... it's always good to know that others have done the same thing, have suffered like I have and have made it though the physical part. I know that next comes the healing with the family, etc.

I want to congrat you on something I could never do , go c/t.  I had to go to a methadone clinic to wean off of the hydrocodone.  I am proud of you.  Just thinkin about not sleepin scares me. I love my sleep.  I have been addicted to pills on/off for about 3 yrs. I even spent time in prison for my pill addiction.  Addiction is strong.  But good luck your doin  GREAT!

Thanks for the encouragement. The lack of sleep has been the WORST w/d symptom ... I mean I literaly got ZERO sleep (ok ... maybe 5-10 minutes) the first two nights. Only thing that kept me going was hot baths ... the clock runs really slow this way. The night before I might have gotten 20 minutes total sleep, and last night didn't get much until morning when I actually slept for 45 minutes straight. Took two good 25-30 minute naps today and thought I might actually sleep better tonight ... but not yet. Not easy for sure ... my wife has really been there for me on this ... threw all my pills away and even fed me on day 2 (the worst day).

Sorry to ask, but I never heard of xodols before. What are they? a pain pill or an anxiety benzo? just curious. :)

Xodol is 10mg hydrocodone / 300mg tylenol

OHHH that's a norco....only 25mgs less acetaminaphen. right?
