My very best to you.  I understand when life's problems seem to be piling up on you that it seems best to wait for a better time, but is there really a better time?  Sometimes one would be surprised that they can get in a "mode" and tackle it all at once.  Please consider going cold turkey as planned.  Grit your teeth and say "I will overcome all of these problems NOW.

Chubbers, what caused you to be on this forum, and what caused you to want to be clean?  I ask that because even though you have many problems coming up, and existing, you are not at "rock bottom".  Perhaps you could write a letter to my friend to explain your story to her.  Please see my post "I'm at Rock Bottom. Please Help".  I would be most appreciative.  Perhaps writing about your story would help you also.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation..I've been living with layoffs hanging over my head for nearly 20 years and I think they're getting closer to me.

What type of diabetes does your husband have?  Do some searching on the web or talk to the doctor..he can get a free blood sugar meter and other testing supplies through various programs, and there are various free education programs available in many communities.  Go do www.diabetes.org for more info.  With carefully controlled diet and excersize, diabetes CAN be controlled.  Now if I can only follow my own advice..

I know how you feel. I often ask the same thing. Can life get any worse? Lucky for me, I live in a neighborhood where I can step outside and see how much worse it could be. I tell myself that I could be just like that. Homeless, asking for change, kids taken. Some people look at me and think I got it good. If only they know how I was feeling inside.
I thought I hit rock bottom this week, which was why I decided to give this a try. I really dont have to. The pills are free from my ex, he wont cut me off. But I was depressed and miserable and couldnt see a point to life. Its time to quit. I am quitting cold turkey, todays my first day. I quit my job last week because of these feelings. Just try to stay strong and dont wait for a better time. There is no better time.

I'm really sorry you're getting hit with all this at a point in your life when your trying to clean up your life.  It does seem like a lot to put on anyones back at any juncture in anyones life, but, and I say this with a heavy heart.  It can get a lot worse.  If you can just take one day at a time and saver your next breath of fresh air clean and crisp, wouldn't that be one less thing to worry about.  It is tough to break away from this grip we have on us but remember, God never gives us more than we can handle.

I'm sorry to hear of all the troubles you are going thru and sad to hear of hubby's health at least it is manageable and not something worse. As bleak as things seem right now they will get better, life has a funny way of working out. I wish you all the luck in finding a new job, are there banks in your area that you could work at temporarily till something better comes along still shoot for this week-end ct, things might take on a new twist when viewed with a clear mind Limbo

maybe this will be a better time than you realize going ct atleast you wouldn't have to work, and from what i understand it is very hard to ct and continue to maintain a job!!!! So as they say, everything happens for a reason! you have gone through so much and things can only go up from here!! you and your husband will be in our thoughts & prayers!!
