thaks its hard 4me coz im the only 1 wot kknows im usein
Hello Guys, many thanks for this supportive thread, I was seeking for a solution since I just quit morphine that was given me by my doctor for psoriatic arthritis but right after I took, it works amazed and I went back to normal activities. Tolerance set in.
I began to get side effect real bad included stomach cramps, and clammy sweat, I thought that I was getting older to have some kind of flush.
I have been taking Morphine for 3 years started with 20 mg a day up to 480mg a day split 4 ways. I realized that I need to quit and I prefer to live it with pain than having horrible side effect. I managed to reduced very slowly since 8 months, I bet that I was very sick 2/3 out of 8 months.
Now it has been third day since I quit the medicine, I couldnt sleep at all, body shaking, and vomiting, diarrhea, dry mouth, my body feel like it was squeeze in vise. It is tough, I was wondering how long it would go away. Since first day until now, no chance and I dont feel any better. I read throughout It sounds as if you would get thru very easily,
Any advice would be appreciate,
I also wrote some blogs to warn the people DO NOT TAKE MORPHINE for any reason because it is not fit for people. I would understand if it is terminally illness.
Thanks for hearing me out,
Willy
I would say about 4-5 days for the worst of it and about 7 - 10 days to really start feeling a lot better. We will be here to support you, you can do it.
God Bless.

So if you stop cold turkey from using oxycontin daily (80-160 mgs) how long will it take for withdrawals to end?
Yes, you are doing great! Just keep plugging along, you will get through.
And yes, please get rid of the morphine, as Vicki said flushing it will be very therapeutic for you. They will call to you, even in your sleep, trust me.
Keep up the great work, make sure to drink lots and get some exercise if you can. I know that might sound almost impossible, but it will get things moving in your body and make your mind feel better.
God Bless. Luv, Jacky
Hi~ Good for you! Just do it! AND,as Michele said, get rid of the MS! Just flush it!
It's very empowering...

Good for you Tonya! You will get better, just take it moment to moment! Im not telling you what to do by any means, but I would personally have to get rid of the rest of that morphine or they would be in my belly,..that's just me....
Great luck to you, and your brother too! Yes, tell him to come here if he can, it saved me several times and now Im addicted to it lol...
have a wonderful day...hope it's nice weather where you are :)
So I started taking some sleep realx herb pills and vitamin B complex 2 days now.I still have 4 morphine pills left.Today I am not going to take any morphine at all.hopefully my body got used to the lower doses.Im gonna just cut off the morphine now..eeek.I dont know what Im so scared about. If the wd are just like flu symptoms then I think I can handle that.
I got the will power,I dont want to use oxy's again.I just want to be able to wake up and not have to feel like I need pills to feel normal.
My brother is in the same situation as me.We are both trying to quit.I gave him lots of info that I learned on here and told him he should join this forum for support.
I will post back in a few days.hopefully I'll be ok..lol

one supplement that i STILL take out of the thomas recipe, that helps tremendously with fatigue issues, is called L-Tyrosine. You can get it at any health food store, not too expensive either. The basics I would say as far as wds are the tyrosine, b complex, and L Theanine (helps you relax and sleep better)
keep it up and GOOD LUCK!
Vit. B really helped me, helps me still! Good for you to try to taper off morp. We are rooting for you :) Good luck!!
Hi again
thanks everybody for your help!
I was taking about 80mg of the oxy everyday or every other day.I wasn't prescribed them,I was taking them for the feeling it gave me until I realized I had an addiction problem. I am taking the morphine 15mg once a day now.
I guess Im just gonna try to taper off and then just deal with it.
today Im going to get some vitamin B and Olive leaf extract.I used to take them for depression, it gave me energy and made me feel better mentally.
Im going to check out the thomas recipe.
Again thanks for your all your help everybody (hugs)
hi there. well i would personally say that taking morph pills instead of oxy's is prob not the best thing you could be doing right now. i am not 'all for' suboxone, but that is the only thing that i know, and i have seen my friends on it after taking oxy's, that actually helps them go through the wd's and starts to balance your brain out again. if you cant get that, search for thomas recipe on here, it helped me tremendously with wd's....and its all stuff you can get otc. good luck!!!
You're feeding the withdrawals with another opiate. So,you are not clean and you are not in withdrawal. You still have opiates in your system. The morphine is not helping you at all. It's only delaying the inevitable. I know you want this to be as painless as possible but it's just something you have to go through.
Look up the Thomas Recipe in the health pages. Lots of great advice there. Once free of any pills, the detox will take about a week. Many of us have done it and are happy to help and support you. Just keep posting...
Good luck~
Vicki
Hey!!-------Just to let you know that you are substituting one opiate for another-----You will have withdrawals when you run out of morphine-------keep posting with questions and others will help you---------Hang in there ! Jon
They will help with the wd's but only untill you run out. Since you are probably taking less morphine then you were oxy (hopefully), the wd's when you run out might not be as bad, it seems like you are doing somewhat of a taper program. They are both opiates, though, so untill you decide to stop taking all opiates, you will not fully begin the detox process.
Wd's suck. Most of us here have been through them. I was using 400mg oxy a day and went to treatment and refused any medical detoxing, they just monitored my blood pressure to make sure I wasn't going to get really sick. It took me about 4 days to see the most uncomfortable symptoms to go away, then it was basically sleep problems and anxiety. Within 2 weeks I was sleeping pretty normally and after a month I felt like my old self again mentally. We can do this, it may be really uncomfortable at times, but its definitly worth it in the end. I've got 11 months clean on the 5th of this next month and I've never felt better. Hang in there!
hello. well, morphine is an opiate, so I think you still have opiates in your system. That's why you feel so good, sleep good, etc...sure, that will help with the withdrawals because you are not in withdrawals if you are giving your body the opiates that it wants right now. You have to quit all opiate usage to go through withdrawals. You will withdrawal when you quit the morphine,,,
