Can an Additionologist tell your spouse about your addiction?

I went to this guy yesterday, he told me I had to tell my husband, I have a problem w/ Soma.  I told him I did not want my husband to know.  When I filled out my med. form I put my husbands work number, can he call him and tell him??  He wants to see me tomorrow (11-14) not going back to him, he was not very understanding.  I going to do try and do the tapering system.  Then go to my Doc. for something for depression.  Any thoughts?  Please tell me I have nothing to worry about...you guys are the greatest!

Thanks for any input :) hugs to you all.

I don't "frequently flame" anyone.  I had some problems with some members, but they seem to be resolved.  I am on a new path of peace...

And yes...I do embrace the crazies...I just like interesting people, and the ones that don't follow the leader sometimes get a lable slapped on them - like crazy.

Hi Sugarbeens - I had sent Chatahan an e-mail inquiring about how she was and told her you had asked about her, and I got an answer today. She said to thank you for your concern, and said to tell you she feels much better, thanks.  Evidently, she's been locked solid out of the forum; can't post and even can't get in here to read.  I don't really agree with this; in my view, it's censorship.  I do realize she was acting irratively, but hell, don't we all get kinda nuts and say abusive things, sometimes - especially during withdrawals?  There has been other posts, in my opinion, that has been much more abusive than Chatahans, but they're still here. I'm pretty much a "newbie", and have gotten lots of good advice (such as the Thomas recipe, and lots of encouragement), and maybe I don't have the right to complain - but like I said in a previous post "sometimes the people who seem the most abusive and unlovable" are the people who need other's encouragement and love the most...just my 2 cents. Even Mariposa - who frequently flames everybody, says she embraces the "crazies".  We shouldn't discard people for being "inpoliticly incorrect"...we are all in the same boat here, after all.  We're all addicts, but we still have feelings and have the right to be heard.  I appreciate everyone who has shown so much support and love; it's helped me more than anyone could ever know.  Peace/Love, Lisabet

Is Chatahan OK?  Why is she banned?  Many people on here lately have been harsh and cruel at times, and I believe it is the addiction and trying to get clean that causes the harsh words.  What could she have done to get banned unless she was not who she said she was.  Just tell her that I asked about her and to take care of herself.  Love to all.  Butterbean

Don't worry, you are not on any buddy list of mine, chaos or otherwise.

I don't think having a difference of opinion is chaotic or unhealthy, but I promise I will not address another post to you.

God Bless & Amen.

Again, I choose not to get into a confrontation with you.  Rather than spending my time, your time and everyone else's time wading through rhetoric, I will focus on helping myself and others if I can.  Which (again) includes you.

There are those that live in chaos.  In it's absence, they feel compelled to create chaos for others in order to be in their comfort zone, don't you think?  Chaos is quite a tool when used by an expert to render bad feelings and contempt for others.  That is the wrong direction for me as I am going the other way.

If you ask a question that I feel I can help in some small way, I will.  Otherwise, please scratch my name from the "chaos buddy list".  Given the choice, I much prefer the game, "Candyland".

All the best,
Mike

In reference to your question on Chatahan---you may want to read some of the posts on the 12th thread down titled "Going to first AA Meeting....".  I think the reason she may have been banned cause she "threatened" someone with a machete...I've gotten a couple of e-mails from her and she sounds like she's going through a rough stretch. Haven't heard from her in a couple of days, though.  To tell you the truth, I miss her posts. I realize her behavior was a little erratic and unorthodox at times, but I truly don't think she meant any harm---just venting in my opinion. She needed help and compassion instead of being kicked off the board. I let her know I welcome her e-mails anytime. When I first came to the board, she was one of the first to jump in and answer my posts, and offer support.  So whatever anyone else thinks of her, so be it.  She's still OK in my book.  Sugarbeens - have a great weekend.  Take care, Lisabet

I had an interesting discussion with my brother a couple days ago.  He had been born again, and is very happy with his new-found faith.  I am happy for him.  I asked him about the second coming thing, and we had a long discussion about the fact that if He did show up and claimed to be Christ, many people who probably just think he was crazy.

That being said, why does God have to forgive me for saying that? I was only pointing out that most people don't believe in miracles. Chatahan claimed he/she could speak Native American fluently after a seizure or something...everyone laughed at him and gave him ****.  My comment was along the same lines...seeing is believing in this society for the most part.  It's too bad...I like the thought that miracles can happen, and I believe it.

Hi, I'm a bit late responding, but here you go:

No doctor can divulge your personal information to ANYBODY.  No exceptions!  Only if you give your permission and sign a form.

Also, if you want to tell your doc something, and you don't wnat it on your record, just tell the doc "I want to tell you something confidential, off the record" and then they cannot put it in your record.

OIf they break either of these two rules, they not only are breaking a code of ethics, they are breaking the law.  You can SUE THEM!  And, they could lose their licenses,

Good luck, and get well - but don't worry about disclosure.

Hi - I don't think Chatahan is here anymore.  He was taunted until he retaliated and then was booted from the forum.

Some people cannot believe things they cannot understand.  Some people can't believe in miracles.

All these Christians that can't wait until the second coming of Christ, probably would lock him up in the loony bin if he ever did show up.

I believe you. It's a fact that some people that have had near death experiences come out of it & can speak different languages that they never had knowledge of. Since the part of your brain that had the seizures is near your speach center, it seems possable.

I never said you were drunk.  If you are going to reply to me, you should get your facts straight.  The reason I wrote the Rod Serling statement is because anyone who would read what you wrote about being able to talk indian after a seizure would think you are out of your mind.  And, the jury is still out on that.  Being able to do that is completely impossible.  Are you a little kid?  You have one hell of an imagination.

Mr. Michael,

You better start reading up buddy instead of judging everyone except yourself of course.

I have Doc after Doc proof of what I said in many studies. I don't need your say so as belief or not. Who are you, (Dr, I know it all?) This has come over a four year period, it wasn't zappo, I speak fluent Indian. Get a life, kahkah, na'na.

You just out of nowhere started to speak it after a seizure?  Rod Serling could have made a feature film about that.

Mr michael,

I don't look for attention from TV, in fact I rarely watch TV because of all the swearing and violence. Even the news is boring and all we hear is death this that the other, and war, war and more war. It gets tiring, not inspiring.

The Docs took no interest or concern about the language and said my seizures are near the speech and memory centers and therefore probably triggered the memory from my very young past, say 1-2 years of age. That's about it. Nothing exciting for a film I don't think. I also am not one of those let's conjur a good story to make money for TV. I would rather write songs and work with my gardening. I'll never get rich, but I am not a materialist and don't keep much furniture, no jewlery, a used truck, my computer is about the only extra thing I own. My house and land is normal for a person my age and I worked like a carabao to achieve it. Two jobs, seven days a week for 3 1/2 years.

I don't think my life is anything to write home about. It's pretty plain and simple, like I like it to be. I only hope to eventually have a year sobriety under my belt again.

I almost chose not to waste time answering since you think I want to kill people and am always drunk but I wanted to make clear my intentions are not to get rich. And no, I wasn't drunk last night or now for that matter.
