Can someone give me some advice? I need to get off this roller coaster.

I used to be "Going to make it this time" but I learned I was kidding myself. I want to stop taking the pills (Lorocet or Vicodin). I take them for foot and back pain. Some days I can't walk because of the pain but I admit that I take more than I should and I usually take them in half the time that I should. I can't can't tell my saint of a husband because he wouldn't understand. He is a great guy but he has never taken any drugs other than excedrin. He is very healthy. I hate what they do to me but I miss them soooo much in between presriptions. Can anyone share their experiences with me? I just want to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I appreciate anything you can share.

I can't do this anymore. I have too many people that I have to care for. I have two daughters, my Dad and Husband and I am the bread winner.

I know how you feel. I'm currently addicted to oxycotdin, tramodol, and hydromorophone. I to have issues with telling certain people about my troubles with these evil little pills. Right now i'm trying to quit and this is the first day. Not a second goes by when I think about the pills. It's hard. Every one on this blog is great, they have some of the best advice. Espcially if you have trouble talking to someone else about your addiction. Tonight i have had a bad problem trying to not take the pills. So I started to watch a movie and got a boat load of comfort food to eat. It helped a little to take my mind of things. But i'm scared that in the days ahead of me it will be alot tougher then now. So i'm glad I have found this blog and have people like you to help me through my time of need. If you need anything at all just ask and we will be here for you.

I know this sounds harsh, but if you truly hate what the pills are doing to you ENOUGH, you can quit.  You need to choose.  Pills or family.  Pills or life.  Its only going to get worse.  I know you are looking for encouragment so i will say TRUST ME, you can do this.  Depending how many you have been taking  a day and for how long, you may need help.

Oh and when i quit i literally marked down each hour that passed on a piece of paper.  It was my way of motivating myself hourly.  You are going to obsess about the pills either way, so why not keep track of your success.  I wish you the best.

First of all let me say Lee you are in my prayers. I've been through withdrawal before. Maybe we can go through this together. I'd tell my doctor but I don't for fear that she will cut me off.

Brian, Thank you for the kick in the pants and dose of realitiy. I will start the tracking tomorrow. When I get my RX of 60 Lorecet 650's I take about 4 every three hours or about 12-15 per day. Nothing I am  proud of. When I stop taking them I am not sure if it is the pain from my feet and back or the withdrawals.
