Chi_chi_lover  thanks for correcting me.  You can tell i dont have kids....lol.  I thought ADD and ADHD were one in the same.......scary medicine, but unless you can afford one of Dr. Phils best-of-the-best Specialists sometimes parents just don't know what to do.  We live in a different time than when I was a kid .......where mom stayed home and beat the **** out of us, and we couldn't have them thrown in jail for good old fashion discipline. What can you say......See how I turned out......LOL

Nauty............:-))

thanks everybody..i feel like an idiot..i have taken plenty of things in my life and just when you think you've "been there" and done that..something else comes along..i try to stay on top of what kids are getting their hands on..That drug doesn't sound to helpful to say the least...But it would explain certain things about my oldest 2 kids..several years back..They are just now telling me the things they have "done"..Well more so my son..he rats out the others..lol

Adderral is actually a combination of two plain amphetamines....I dont know why the Pro's use this approach, but it is accepted therapy......and we learned before the hippies got the slogan "speed kills" that the stuff wasnt much good for you....

My 18 year old daughter was on it..one day she and one of her friends snorted a couple (a trick she learned while in substance abuse therapy) and was bouncing off the walls and totally out of control to the point I told my wife to call a cop and and ambulance because I was at work and had no idea what she was capable of...

It is as the above say, it's basically speed...it is used for the ADHD the step above the ADD that so many kids are treated with Ritlin. And yes, it is all over the high schools for sure. The kids that are on it sale it to other kids and they use it as "speed".  What parent lets a teenager in control of their meds like this??? I guess a lot because my son says it's a big thing at his school. This is why we keep all meds under lock and key.

Yes Nauty, parents will put their kids on anything to make their life easier. Some I do feel need medication but very few not the thousands that are on them.

It's speed to a person without ADD.......I don't think any child should be on it, but thats my nickel and dime opinion....It's a parents choice.  It's also easy for me to say because I don't have to live with the child......:-)))))

yeah it is in the same category as ritalin, 20mg of ritalin is equivalent to 10mg of adderol. Where i'm from Ritalin is a major problem in schools and it gets called kiddy cocaine. Your right, it is very scary. I have younger brothers and i dont know what i would do if they were offered this.

I'm not quite sure if i am correct in saying this but i'm sure that adderol is usually used for people with ADHD or ADD, i'm not quite sure what they would do to a person without this though. Sorry i cant give you anymore information.

bascially coke in a pill...its an amphetamine used to treat add and adhd. And its extremely addictive and withdrawls are just as sh1tty as opiates from what i have read. However it can be effective for opiate withdrawl for a short period since it speed metabolizm up so much and realease seratonin a bit.
