Thanks for the info. I am in outpatient for this matter right now, and I'm trying so hard to make it. My doctor knows about it to. But I have chronic pain from a horrible car wreck and it's been hard to keep on track with my meds. It really bites. The tests I have to take is a urine one, so I won't stress on it, from what you said! Thank you! If I don't get it right on my next script I will be going to inpatient rehab once again.

You seem very smart, that is why I'm asking you this question, I have a prescription for oxycodone, I ran out and have been taking morphine from a old prescription I had. I have to go in for a UA. 3 people told me morphine will test the same as oxycodone because it has the same metabolites is that true?

A simple urine test will be the same but a blood test will not lie and will tell exactly how much of what is in your blood at what levels. Even though, I have done this many times, I don't recommend taking one because of running out of other. Had I educated myself years ago, I would have been completely open with my Dr. so he could of seen the addiction signs before it got so bad for me.

Just a follow up, Opana is twice as strong as Oxy. Saw a couple posts saying the opposite.  Be super careful not to drink beer/booze on opana.  Extremely dangerous. Opana is linked to a lot of deaths from people drinking on them. It's becoming a more popular drug because it's so strong. Will start hearing more and more about it.
It's hard to get a comparable conversion when switching. Talk to your dr

Also want to say that the information about the way your doctor changed your dose is acurate. You went from a strong dose of Oxy to a very low dose of Opana. The conversion is way off for you. You should be taking 30 mg twice a day or 3 10 mg pills 3 times a day. Butr I'm going to say this, try not to increase, you will only suffer a little for about 5 days and your body will adjust. YOU DO NOT WANT the opana monkey on your back trust me!

You have received some incorrect information here. Although Oxycotin come in 40 and 80mg Opana are more addictive even though they come in 10, 30 and 70 mg. This is because the it is a combination drug and is a mix of oxy and morphine. The problem is honestly probably that you are changing and the morphine is the change and now that you have stepped up you need more of the drug to feel better. How do I know this...I was on the exact same drugs a year ago. Opana is the most wicked drug I ever touched in my life and when I tried to get off them the only fix was shooting 120mg of pure morphine every hour to stop my withdraws. You are on a dangerous path with opana. I could snort 70mg and within 45 minutes snort another one. BE CAREFUL and do some research online about this drug PLEASE! Oxy may be a higher mg but Opana is much more addictive and you will become much more dependant on it. Once I switched to opana Oxy did nothing for me. Go to rxlist.com and look it up PLEASE! Compare the 2 drugs on there. It's the best site to look up ANY drug.

You may want to talk to your doc about the opana er (extended release) pills. They are more in line with what you were on. they come in 20,40.'s.

Opana (Oxymorphone) is a powerful semi-synthetic opioid analgesic. Much stronger than  Oxycontin (Oxycodone). Endo brought it to the U.S. market in 1959 under the brand name Numorphan . Endo withdrew the original Numorphan tablets from the market in 1972 as the result of regulatory and market pressures and other considerations as it was passionately sought, by any means necessary, by some narcotics addicts. Endo brought it back to the market in 2006 to compete against Oxycontin. Oxymorphone was the drug of choice in the movie Drugstore Cowboy, Matt Damin and his gang called them "Blues". Oxymorphone is also considered to be especially euphoric; comparable to or better than heroin. Look it up on Wikipedia!!!

Oxycontin is a stronger drug and more addictive you will have some withdrawals.

Oxycodone is about  half as strong as Oxymorphone per mg. So you were talking 60mg of Oxycontin (Oxycodone) and going by a Opioid (Narcotic) analgesic converter you would need 30mg of Opana (Oxymorphone) to get the same pain releif and most likley the same to cover the withdrawl. You are now  taking 10mg of Opana where 30mgs is what the converter says you need. You need to talk to your Dr. about dosage and don't take more than your Dr wrote the Opana for until he or she OKs it.
