Can you really have a siezure from Ultram

Have been using Ultram for 4-5 days to help with W/D's from coming off 20-25 Norco (10mg) a day.  Went from 20 to 2 a day overnight so you can imagine the intensity of the W/D's.  I have used Ultram over the years for pain when I didn't have any Norco but had not had any in about 2 weeks b4 I started using them for the W/D's.  For 4 days I took 6-8 to help with the Norco W/D but today since my Norco withdrawals weren't KILLING ME,  I only took 1 Ultram, am I going to have a siezure??? If so, I will go take 1 right now.. My plan is to try to only take 1 during the day and 2 before bed because I do get some sleep on them.. Does this sound ok, I have done so well with the Detox on my own, I would hate to have a siezure to screw this all up... Thank you so very much..

hi, its impossible to tell for sure of course, but IMO you probably should be OK. I think people that have seizures from Tramadol/ ultram are usually on it for MUCH longer a period of time and high doses. Its not impossible or unheard of I suppose though. Maybe as an extra safety measure you should take another tram today and then just one tomorrow or something to that effect. You probably should be fine though (you dont have a predisposition to epilepsy/ or previous seizures, do you?).

Oh Sweet Jesus, I am so glad you answered me so fast, I was sitting in this damn chair a nervous wreck.. LOL.. No, I don't have a predisposition to ep or seizures but just so that I don't have a seizure from this damn worrying maybe I should take the extra one during the day for a day or so.. thanks so much..

I was taking anywhere between 40 to 60 Norco a day, and when I would run out I would take Tramadol. I took 4 at a time. I was at work and on the phone with my mom. I don't even remember our conversation. The next thing I know I'm picking myself up off the floor and had a nasty knot on my head. My mom was yelling into the phone and when I picked it back up she asked me what happened. I said something along the lines of "How did I get on the phone with you?" I didn't remember anything! I don't even remember the drive home that night. I came on here and explained what happened, and everyone kept telling me that it was a seizure. I never took them again....

yes it can we had a girl the other day wding have a sezuire.. You are only taking a few which is good are you on any antidepressants or other meds that might cause sezuires

wow, that really *****.. I have never taken more than 2 at a time and NEVER more than 8 and I usually keep it to 6 and I am on blood pressure med and elevil and have never had a seizure before. Well just to be safe, I took 1 this morning well that one was to help with the Norco W/D;s and I took one the minute I got my first response back from this post cause I was SCARED TO DEATH.. I will take 1 or 2 before bed and I guess do that for 2 days then will cut back my dose by only 1 pill every 2-3 days.. I hope that is a safe enough taper not to have a seizure.. Oh damn this ***** big time..

When I say never more than 8 but usually keep it to 6, I mean a day, not in one gulp.. LOL

i would think that after 5 days of use..u r safe from seizures...never hurts to be cautious tho...taking too many ultram in one day can also cause seizures..it happens but it is not to everyone..be safe and keep posting

Thanks Worried, I sure will keep posting, this site is the ONLY thing that has kept me from sticking a fork in someones eye!!!!!  (including my own)....  I WILL get through this but jeez it is a nightmare...

I'm new to this, and I don't know if it could help, but I have just returned from Dr. after 4 days of d/t from Tram. and my BP went from my normal 110/82 to 152/100. I'm sure it was much higher on day 2 and 3 of w/d.  I would think that there could be some drastic change in your BP if a seizure were near by, as I have heard it is very possible to have a seizure either while using or while detoxing. I also found the herb Valarian root to be of a miniscule help that may calm you a tiny bit. Wish I could be of more help. Good Luck to you.
