Cancer Cure?

Cancer Cure?

Just saw a report on the news that scientists say a cure for cancer could be just two years away.  The FDA, yesterday, gave them the go ahead to try a new treatment that they think is very promising.  They have discovered that some people have cancer fighting cells that are 50% stronger than others and the procedure will involved harvesting these cells and injecting them in people who have cancer.  Interesting.

It was actually on the news (on television) and I haven't done an online search yet.  When I do, I'll link you.  They didn't really go into the specific details...the report was somewhat vague, but it does sound very promising.

I also saw where British researchers said that an Alzheimer's vaccine should be out within 6 years. That disease scares me more than opiate addiction.

It's a horrible, insidious disease.  My Mom is slowly subcombing to Alzheimer's.  It is so sad to watch...she's on Aricept and it seems to have sort of arrested it, but her short term memory is shot.  Thank God her long term memory is still great.  She can function and still lives alone, but we don't know for how long.  She is becoming more and more childlike, though.  Her personality has changed in ways hard to explain.  The best way I can is to say, she's almost like a child now.  I HATE it.

She's always been my rock...she has always been steadfast, level-headed and rational.  Being Italian, I'm not (I'm not sure why she is...she didn't get the "passionate gene" for some reason!)  LOL

She has been the one person I could always turn to for great advice.  She loved me unconditionally, but by no means was always "on my side"...when I was being unreasonable or ridiculous, she let me know it and set me straight...all while never making me feel even a little unloved.  Now I'm losing her, day by day.

Yes...it scares me, also.

hate to say this, but there will never be a cure for cancer.  I will never forget the day I heard a statment from a very prominent hospital that if a cure for cancer was found, that hospitals would go bankrupt.  Made me sick.  they may let the truth our regarding some cancers .......because there is a cure.  But there will never disclose the cure for all cancers. Its probabably all the same, but they will figure out a way to lie to us as they have for the past 50 years.    My personal opinion.
