"Casual" Opioid user, have I developed a dependency?

I take between two and four Opioid pills a week, no more then two in one day, and normally on the evening of a weekend just to mellow out and enjoy the effects.  I guess I am a "recreational" user.  I took two on a Saturday night (three nights ago) and those were the only ones that week.  The last three days I have had flu-like symptoms with stomache ache, diarrahea, headache, muscle aches, chills and a little nausea (no fever).  I have taken one pill a day since then to alleviate the symptoms and it works excellently, but 10 or so hours later the pains and symptoms reappear.  I am trying to discover if I just have some kind of bug, and the pills help me feel better because that's what they're supposed to do, or if my body is now craving opioids and that is what is CAUSING these symptoms?  As tempted as I was tonight to take a pill tonight, I opted for Ibuprofen instead.  I do not have addiction problems, and could easily go for a week without taking any opioids if on a business trip or just no chance to, without any diifficulties.  Opinions from regular users are welcome.  Thanks.

Agree w/ the prior poster. Also, that's exactly, exactly how I started taking them, a few a week, no biggie, if they weren't around that was cool too. I loved the effect so much I started taking them more and more.  A few years later, I was taking up to 15 daily. I never thought I had addiction issues either. But when I got honest, I realized that non-addicts don't take pills prescribed for pain as recreation. I advise you to be on high alert w/ this. Good luck to you.

You are going through withdrawals. STOP taking them & in about a week (Depending on how much you are really taking) you will start feeling better. Stay hydrated & try to eat some even if it makes you feel bad. Hope you feel better soon.
