Clean,craving,

Hello All,
It's been a long time since i've been on this site. But I am happy to say I am 278 days free of Vicodin I still get craving especially when my personal life isn't going so well, I wonder do the cravings ever really go away? I mean I feel great, my life has changed drastically being of the pills, my relationships with friends, family and daughter has gotten stronger, my job is great, I smile, laugh and actually enjoy life.. I just wish these cravings would stop..
Thanks

To understand your cravings have to first find all your triggers becouse the cycle of a craving starts with a trigger to a thought/ thinking of DOC to craving to decrease or stop a craving it is easier to stop the thought or even better when you feel a trigger/ "life not going so well" stop there change your thought process exercise at that time even if it is just a few push ups anything to stop the trigger or the thought

Hi,
I don't think the cravings ever go away, but the intensity and length of the craving can be greatly diminished if you find out exactly what your triggers are and the tools to deal with them, which is where aftercare comes in.  Have you seen a counselor or been to any meetings?  Congratulations on 278 days!!!  That is wonderful :)
