Clonazepam Withdrawal and Being Weaned Off

Dear Doctor,

I need to know the truth. Can a person that has been on Clonazepam over 10 yrs be weaned off? I don't want to feel these withdrawal symptoms. I cannot concentrate. I am talking a lot and I getting short term memory of what I was going to say when I talk. I'm irritable and cannot sleep well. The people that started me is trying to wean me off in a few days and I'm scared.

There are no staff physicians here...

You need a slow and long taper to come off this drug. If you don't, you'll feel terrible. Talk to the doctor again and tell him/her it cannot be so fast.

Ten years is a long time to undo so insist on a slow taper. How much are you taking?
