Clonidine Questions

by feohmoon, Mar 10, 2008 12:27PM
I just spoke with Steven and there is someone he works with sending clonidine home for us.  I realize we should be under a dr.'s care but we aren't.

1. Can we both take it?
2. 1 per night, correct?  Could we 1/2 one tonight, would that help?
3. Is there a reason we should not use this?

Thanks

Prior to taking it you should really check your blood pressure. If you are not hypertensive or have high blood pressure due to opiate withdrawals, it can substancially lower your BP to dangerous levels. hence why you should really be under a MD's care before taking this.

From what Steven was told, the lady who has it is 45yrs.old with low blood pressure....why she said only 1 per night, I think normally the dose os higher....correct?
I will make a call to the dr.and check out what is said.
The sweats/chills are very bothersome as many of you know...this lady was given this coming off alot of morphine.  Apparently it will get rid of that.....

yey....you can go to the drug store and check your pressures if u do not have a cuff....or run by his office and get your BP checked there...best to let him know what's going on...I am sure he would be ok with it if your BPs are ok

I take it regularly to lower my blood pressure. One thing I have not heard on the forum is that if you quit taking clonidine suddenly it escalates your blood pressure dramatically, leading to possible stroke.  have been warned by my Dr. a few times Limbo
