I've been on the patch for months and developed a skin allergy to it. A counselor at a rehab I visited today told me you can get spasm and stuff like restless leg syndrome when you stop it. I switched to pill for after telling my doctor about the rash in the areas where where the patch was and he switched me to pills. Now I'm getting the rash all over my body. When I asked my doctor what it "did for me" he told me clonodine "takes the edge off." I think it helps but, just like all drugs, you shouldn't do it without a doctor.
Also I think (not positive) that you taper off it in the 5 days. I have never heard of withdrawal from this. Hopefully someone that knows for sure will respond soon. Hang on it's early. Mary
I have also heard it helps. You really should be taking it under a doctors care. I'm not a goody=goody but it can be dangerous if the person has low blood pressure. At least take your blood pressure before using this. If it is at all low , don't take it.
IT IS A BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICINE, that has been used ALOT FOR EASING THE W/D SYMPTOMS..
I had them give me a ptch one time in the ER when I went in telling them I was addicted to oxycodone.. But when I put it on after being in SEVERE w/d for like 2 1/2 days straight then my mom was giving me some 10mg vicodin to help the w/d.. So I cant be sure if it ever really helped or not.. Then I found more pills and took it off after that..
BEST OF LUCK
I have heard from ALOT of people on here and other addicts from my local area that it TRULY DOES HELP with withdrawl symptoms.. It basiclly makes it less severe feeling, and I guess eases up on the harshness of it all.. I had one friend on here say it took away 100% of the withdrawls and made the recovery detox great! This was Angel I believe..
BEST WISHES
