I guess so, why taper if the clonidine will make it bearable.  my dr. wrote half a pill morning and half a pill night.  But, i am thinking a whole one morning and night and maybe a half if needed.   i can check my blood pressure and see where i am.  Fladdict has been so nice to help me.  Even with a taper program.
I just feel like one big screw up.  This sight is such a help to come and know i am not alone.  We all have each other.  That's a BIG help.  Thanks.

I didn't realize that it would work that good.  I have a bottle.  Have been trying to taper. Good intentions, you know how that goes?!   Maybe i will just finish the percoset and then get on the clonidine. It helps that much, huh?  I also bought imodium.  Hope we all make it.

Hi this is pre-written for new people… hope this helps:

It’s good to come clean with your doc concerning your desire to get off.  Ask him to prescribe clonidine, (not klonopin), and ativan.  These will help with sleep, RLS and anxiety.  These are best to try before formal detox and drugs like Suboxone.  I had to do formal detox because I tried everything else, including alcohol to get off and nothing worked for me.  Keep in mind that when you try… make it a good one!  Have some time off of work if you can… maybe a four day weekend or more.  Make the last day of work without any drugs, because the first day is usually the easiest.  Try your best to get clean and stay clean because the other methods require more potent drugs and you have to come off of those.  I am still on Suboxone and am a little worried about that… It does work well but the jury is out on, “At what Cost.”  I also learned while in detox, that the mind can psychosomatically create pain to “get’ the drug.  Another was that healing while using opiates greatly diminishes.  I would have sores on my hands that would take way too long to heal.

I have to say this from the bottom of my heart,  Please do not keep playing around with these drugs they are very powerful ….. kinda like heroin in a pill and just as hard to get off once you attain the, "addicted" status.

I agree with you both. Some people are afraid to ask their PC for it because it dries up their supply. It was worth it for me. I wouldn't have made it past day 3 without it!!

Thank you!!! And congrats to you on 2 months!!!  That is truly awsome...I hope you feel really good about that...

It's funny, I always swore by these shakes.. and I quit them last time I went off the hydro's because I generally put ground flaxseed in them (you don't have to, I just do) and with the tummy stuff that comes with w/d's.. well, you know.

Anyway, the company is called Isagenix.  The shakes are called Isalean Shakes - I think they are used for weight loss too, but that's not why I drink them - I drink them because they have an unbelevable amount of vit's and min's in them, and now I realize, a sh##load of amino's.  And they taste good too... I throw the flaxseed, blueberries - whatever - into them, to mix it up and get more good stuff!  I've always sworn they've given me a spring in my step..

You have to check online because you have to get them from a distributor.  Once you do that tho, you pay like $35 then you are a "distributor" and can just order them directly...  I'm telling you, these things are great...

If you have ANY prob's finding it online, let me know and I will find it for you...

Thanks for the info!! I've always been a shake guy, too. I've also tried the flax oil as well. I agree, they can be rough on the withdrawal "stomach" problems. I've never tried this brand, but I definitely will. I'll let you know what I think. Thanks for the info again, and If I can ever be of help..let me know..

oh!  and i started back on these shakes i have been drinking for the last 2-3 years that have almost all the amino's in them that are on the End Your Addiction Now list Fladdict gave me.. who knew.  not exact dosages, but close enough.

maybe that's helping- ?  who knows.. just greatful, my brother!

well, i had only been back on the pills for about a month, after being off for 3 weeks..

at my worst, 10-11 10/325 norco's a day.  the week before I quit out of nowhere i was able to taper, and was taking 8-10 5/500's a day (which are sh##y compared to norco's haha.)  so i was down about half my dosage of hydro.. my last day before i quit, my taper went up (ie i couldn't control it any longer,) so i said enough.

so that might have helped too, that i pretty much cut the intake by about 1/2...

thank you so much for asking.  it really is literally, night and day.... other than being really tired, i feel good.  i've gone on walks every single day - and i'm on day 3!!!

I've been thinking about trying the amino thing to help my continued recovery. I'm pretty close to 2 months now, I think. I didn't know there was a shake that had all the good aminos in it. Can you tell me what kind it is? Thanks for the info, and keep up the great work. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers!!

I'm glad to hear you're doing so well. It reduced my withdrawal symptoms by about 75 percent or more. What was your DOC and how much were you taking daily? Before my last detox, I was taking approx 100mgs of Oxy per day. I wish more people would try clonidine. It was such a help to me.

Oh my goodness - like a dream!!! Almost no w/d symptoms at all.  The only downside is the tiredness (i've napped all 3 days in a row) but heck, I will take that ANYTIME.

Seriouslly... this stuff is the best!!! And I'm not even taking the full dosage.. I'm only taking 2 a day, in halves, 4x a day...

It really is night and day from doing it without...

:-)
